Xolo has been teasing its anticipated Android smartphone user interface (UI), called Hive, for some time now. The new era of UI is finally nearing as the company on Friday has sent out invitations for an event scheduled on August 6, officially.
Although, the press invites doesn’t reveal any details regarding the Play 8X-1000 smartphone, though, but particularly focuses on the company’s much-loved Hive UI.
Xolo has confirmed that its first smartphone to sport the new Hive UI, the Play 8X-1000 reportedly to be unveiled in the first week of August.
Earlier this week, the company also teased features of the forthcoming Xolo Play 8X-1000 smartphone with Hive UI. Some of the features touted on the official site for the new UI include a new launcher, themes, media center, lock screen and chameleon widget, and a new forum post called Connect.
Prompting its Hive UI with a dedicated page, Xolo came with taglines such as “And right now there’s something different brewing at Xolo. Stay curious,””Soon you will too. The revolution has begun,” and “A revolution is in the works. Stay tuned.”
As per the leaked specs, the Xolo Play 8X-1000 would feature a 5 inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by an octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The HIVE UI based on Android KitKat, comes with a newer quick settings screen with circular controls to adjust brightness, controlling volume levels and comes with last.fm integration for recommendations, new Contacts, Books that let you access all the conversations with a contact in a single thread and customized app drawer etc.
