Xiaomi India Teases Redmi 1S Launch On Facebook, Priced At Rs. 6999

After introducing Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone to the Indian market, now the company aka known as ‘China Apple’ in India has teased yet another product, called Redmi 1S on its Facebook page. Full details after this fold!

xiaomi_logo_rear_redmi_1sAlthough, the first Redmi 1S flash sale could happen a week later on August 29. As per the TheTecholic (first spotted), the timing would be consistent with Xiaomi’s earlier announcement about launching Redmi 1S towards end of August.

Mi fans, we have something really cool in the making for you. Remember to check this page tomorrow [Friday]!, along with a blurred image showcasing a white-coloured device thought to be the Redmi 1S. No other new updates visible right now!

Actually the post asked its fans to share the image, tag a friend and comment guessing what the device might be. The firm will then select three winners at random who’ll be gifted the Mi In-Ear headphones. The contest deadline is Friday (22 August) 11:59 IST.

Speaking about the specifications of the dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) Xiaomi Redmi 1S with dual standby, first announced for China in May. Features a 4.7-inch 720×1280 pixel IPS-LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and a pixel density of roughly 312ppi. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 skinned on top, and no mention of an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade.

The Redmi 1S is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset and paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM, include an 8GB internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). The Redmi 1S sports a 8-megapixel rear-autifocus camera with flash, and 1.3MP front-facing sensor. It also offers GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and hotspot functionality, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG and 3G connectivity options.

Note: Xiaomi has already unveiled the next version of its MIUI user interface, MIUI v6, the new smartphone UI for Android-based Xiaomi smartphones, which will come with a major new design refresh and also brings plethora of new features. Xiaomi Mi4 runs on MIUI 6 out-of-the-box.
