A gift from the legendary jailbreakers and unlockers have been pushed for those who are eagerly waiting for the news to cheer about as the cat and mouse game with Apple and the networks becomes more and more difficult for those involved in producing jailbreaks and iPhone unlocks. When a new iOS firmware releases, then we are to be very happy if yor iPhone is factory unlocked and if not theyy have to think about their baseband. Whether its going to be unlocked or jailbroken or not.

Today, this news brought some amazing things by the masses of iPhone Dev Team leader MuscleNerd, should certainly raise a smile on the faces of those who require a network unlock on their jailbroken iPhone. MuscleNerd has confirmed that a Chinese researcher by the name of Loktar_Sun has discovered a method for unlocking jailbroken iPhones with the help of the Subscriber Artificial Module (SAM) by Sam Bingner.

From the developers and researcher who involved deeper into the possibilities that the SAM package provided. In order to proceed with the unlock, users will need a few things which are detailed below this post. It is also worth noting that this unlock method produces a ticket that is valid only for the SIM card that is used during the procedure, meaning that if you have additional SIM cards that you wish to use in the unlocked iPhone, you will need to repeat the process with each SIM.

What you require?

Users will need to have their jailbroken iPhone that is not listed on any IMEI blacklist. A computer with a fully working internet connection and the latest version of iTunes installed is also required and you also need to know the carrier the your iPhone is locked to.

Which iPhone’s can be unlocked with this tool :

iPhone 4S (GSM only) (1.0.14, 1.0.13, 1.0.11 and etc)

iPhone 4 (GSM only) (4.12.01, 4.11.08, 4.10.01, 2.10.04)

Step 1 : Open the Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone and add the following repository for the SAM pacakge. The repo URL is http://repo.bingner.com and contains the official up to date SAM package and the required dependencies.

Step 2 : Launch the SAM interface. Simply by tapping the SAMPrefs icon that can be found on your Springboard, or by finding the SAM preferences bundle through the Settings.app. Make sure that your device SIM card that you intend to use is present on your iPhone.

Step 3 : After SAM has been launched, select the ‘Utilities‘ option before selecting ‘De-Activate iPhone‘. If this has been done correctly, the device ActivationState should now read as ‘Unactivated‘.

Step 4: Keep SAM enabled and choose ‘By Country and Carrier‘ in the Method options. The next step is to find your carrier in this list. Be aware that some networks work with more than network ID, therefore meaning users may need to select the ‘SIM ID‘ option.

Step 5: Head on over to ‘More Information‘ and make a note of the IMSI that is present in the ‘SAM Details‘ section before tapping ‘Spoof Real SIM to SAM‘. Head back to the main SAM screen and change ‘Method‘ to manual and paste or enter the IMSI string that you should have made a copy of.

Step 6 :Now you have to connect the iPhone to the PC using the supplied USB-cable and allow iTunes to re-activate the iPhone. After completion, double click the iPhone Number Section of the device details and assume that displayed ICCID matches that found on the SIM card. If it doesn’t, then repeat the process from where you started.

Step 7 : If the strings match then unplug the device and disable the SAM package. Re-connect the device to iTunes and do not be alarmed by any error messages that may pop-up saying that the device cannot be activated. This error is normal and requires iTunes to be shut down and then re-opened.

Step 8 : After some time, you will see the iPhone should display those beautiful signal bars meaning that the process has been successful.

Note : If you find that push notifications have ceased working, this can be resolved by selecting the ‘Clear Push‘ option in SAM and then connecting the device to iTunes.

If you intend on using multiple SIM cards with the unlocked iPhone then the process will need to be repeated with each SIM on an individual basis. The team involved in producing this unlock have also recommended it as good practice to make a manual save of each ticket that is generated due to the fact that it could prove crucial going forward.

Manually save each and every valid unlock ticket

Step 1 : Again run through Steps 1-8 above for each required SIM card, assuming that the method is successful each time your end up.

Step 2 : Navigate to /var/Root/ibrary/Lockdown and make a local copy of everything that is found in that directory for each SIM card.

Congrats, you have done it with this method and unlocked a jailbroken iPhone using the SAM Cydia package. Enjoy factory unlocked-like freedom on your iPhone on any baseband or firmware. Via

Here’s a member StoneBoyTony of XDA Developers has accidentally discovered a root method which does exactly that, boasting compatibility with a large chunk of the Gingerbread Samsung devices available to consumers. He initially created a root method for the Samsung Galaxy Mini running the older Gingerbread version of Android, and found the same method which worked with a large number of other similar devices created by the Korean LCD pioneer “Samsung”.

Which isn’t difficult to do so, but increadily easy to apply. Of couse we have placed a tutorial here for you to follow the steps carefully, and your Samsung device will be rooted in next to no time.

If you are owner of older firmware running iPhone user there is a third-party application called iSMS or weISMS, which lets you send text messages to multiple devices and you can perform forwarding text messages through iDevices. Today we will not talk about the 3rd party iOS apps, but we will be able to do so with the in built messaging utility came along with the iOS 5 and 4S device.

Using iMessage the process of forwarding text, SMS, MMS messages from one sender to another is very simple on the iPhone. Here’s the guide on how to forward text messages on your iPhone 4/4S.

From the Messages app, open the text message you want to forward

Tap the “Edit” button in the upper right corner

Tap the message you want to forward so that it shows a red checkbox next to it

Tap on the “Forward” button in the lower right corner

Enter the recipient in the new message screen and send as usual

The forwarded message send to the recipient as any other messages would, and while an SMS or MMS can be also forwarded as a mass text message though. Group texting will be very useful for reducing text message fees with some network providers and also a great way to annoy your entire iPhone address book as well.

If you haven’t know about how the text messages can be forwarded from an iPhone, iPad or iPod touces or even from your Mac running iMessages and vice versa, though sending to a device other than an iPhone obviously won’t register as an SMS.

Before the story started all the US iPhone users would find it hard to turn down a free unlock and change their network provider. Last week when their carrier began to offer them voluntarily and without charge – a doubt may arise if one is forced to surrender a jailbreak in the process (either tethered or untethered).

This story begins with this: Latest version of Redsn0w allows you to maintain your jailbreak after unlocking. So now you can be able to safely unlock your iPhone and keep your jailbreak right now!

AT&T’s unlocking service, which came into effect earlier this month, involves restoring via iTunes – meaning those with jailbroken devices could lose out on a jailbreak depending on their device and firmware version.

But with the aid of the ever-reliable Redsn0w upgraded version, those of you looking to unlock your device can be spared the loss of your untethered jailbreak, especially if you are on iOS 5.0.1, by following a few simple steps. By following these given steps you can easily, quickly and effectively get your iPhone unlocked.

First, you need to approach AT&T and request the unlock code. You can only do this if your handset is currently off-contract. Once AT&T have agreed to unlock your handset you need to wait anything between a few hours to a few days for the unlock code to be issued by Apple. Once this has happened you will receive an email, by which time you are ready to move onto the unlocking stage.

Wait! this process will only work on all iPhones except the iPhone 4S. Now you can follow the instructions below:

Step 1 : Download Redsn0w for OS X or Windows and run (Windows users will need to run as Administrator).

Step 2 : Once you see the pane on your screen, select the Jailbreak option. Don’t worry, we won’t actually be jailbreaking here.

Step 3 : Follow the steps on screen to slip your device into DFU mode. Those of you having jailbroken a few times in the past should be in fairly familiar territory here.

Step 4 : At the next screen, un-check the Install Cydia option, and select Deactivate.

Step 5 : Connect your device via iTunes, and your device will need to activate as it did when you first purchased it. It’s important to remember that you should not connect via Wi-Fi – stick with the USB sync cable only. If your unlock is ready, your device will be unlocked upon activation – without the need to restore.

This is the way you can unlock your iPhone while keeping all the jailbreak action safe, so that you can enjoy installing Cydia apps and lots more of your choice.

As the Cloud computing giving the services to the mobile users to store the information of contact list, album of photos, and inbox full of messages, now the similar new Dropbox is in availability to backup, restore, sync, share and access files at any point of time from anywhere on the earth if you got the signals.Previously the limited range of Windows phones in which users were unable to get decent apps and even if they got a good one also it was a big task for the users who was running Microsoft’s mobile OS.

To patch up the privious lack of ability, now the Windows Phone users are able to get an improved version of unofficial Dropbox app with cloud backup option. It allows the users to make automatic camera uploads to their Dropbox account. As we know that it was a big problem to get the good quality of images while saving them to the SkyDrive. Now with this new version the problem is somewhat solved.

Though the users can upload the whole image file with the 3.6 updated version of boxfiles for Dropbox, they have to do some manual work while it is not completely automatic. Before their images are backed up to the Dropbox account, they have to open the app for a couple of seconds and allow it to scan the camera directory.

In this updated version, users can select a specific directory to upload their images and can also choose whether the app operates solely via Wi-Fi, or through a combination of Wi-Fi/Cellular data usage.

You can get the Boxfiles for Dropbox updated 3.6 version either free or a $ 1.29 paid option. The paid version contains the nifty auto-uploading feature which is much capable to keep your photos safe. So it is your choice to choose the free or paid version.

However Google and Apple both have a respective online app stores makes it easy to play for smartphones and tablet users to find something new games, utilities, launchers, etc. Since killing off the Android Market in favor of the Play Store, Google has been pushing updates on an almost weekly basis in an attempt to plug any lingering issues.

While the previous update appeared to be causing more problems than it professed to resolve, with some Android users reporting forced closes, web browsing issues, and disappearing of paid apps.

Few days ago one of the updated version of 3.5.15 was leaked in the wild today, and promises to fix the reported issues. Paid apps make a dramatic return, forced closes make a dramatic exit, and according to early adopters, navigation of menus has gotten a little bit smoother.

If you’re an Android owner of a phone or tablet to find more existing games, tricky puzzles, and productivity task-mangers, country restictions can be of extreme annoyance. It wouldn’t be outlandish of you to presume your device hones the ability do run any app gracing the Play Store. Not so; because as well as issues with compatibility – some apps are only compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich, or Gingerbread – there comes a time for nearly every Droid user where, in trying to install an app, you’ll find it just won’t happen if you don’t live in a supported country.

If there is an issue, then there’s a way to solve it – at latest from an Android prespective – the extremely talented brains gracing the XDA-developers forums are probaly on hand with the antidote. A Senior Member Deeco7 of XDA, who’s put together a modified Google Play Store .APK, rendering those annoying country restrictions as a thing of the past. Once installed, you’ll be able to download whatever you want from Google’s recently-renamed mobile app hub – providing, of course, that your device is compatible.

Here’s a simply tutorial if you feel like trying out the modded .APK files.

DISCLAIMER : Grabi will not be responsible for any lose of data or device damage as a result of you following this guide. Proceed at your own risk with caution!

Step 1 : Download the modded .APK file from the original thread over at XDA.

Step 2: Connect your device to your computer.

Step 3: Place the .APK on your device, but don’t use adb install; it won’t work since the Play Store file will already exist.

Step 4 : Open the .APK with a file explorer of your choosing, and install. When prompted as to whether you wish to replace the current Play Store app, you’ll want to select “Yes”.

Step 5 : After a short install process, that’s it. Your new, modded unrestricted Play Store app will be in full flow.

Are you looking to have your iPhone to be unlocked from the AT&T’s network provider, you can do so by entering the company’s online chat while Apple is the one actually doing the unlocking. This news came straight from one of the iPhone hacker and developer Grant Paul, who have verified by the Next Web in chat with AT&T.

However various smartphones are useful to some and essential to many, the way devices are still treated like a monopoly by carriers makes using any given smartphone with a SIM of your choice an often difficult task. Which would be very difficult to perform unlocking, whenever a new firmware is updated, thousands of iPhone users wait to tamper for a method to surface.

As reported on Friday that AT&T announced that it would begin offering to unlock off-contract iPhones as of Sunday – free of charge. Today, it came true and revealed that the process can be done at home through iTunes – saving your precious time, energy in making that trip to your local Store.

First, you can do this in-store, but you can also do it in an online chat at AT&T’s website. The process is painless and only takes a few minutes in the chat. The only piece of information required by AT&T is the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, which can be found under Settings>General>About on your device. Once you’ve completed the procedure, Apple pushes the unlock code during the next 72 hours to your email address, so the code comes from the mothership, not from AT&T. Once Apple completes the unlock request, a customer has to back-up and restore and tether the device to iTunes to complete the unlock process.

How does it work? Here’s a little step-by-step:

Step 1 : On your iPhone, open Settings . General . About, and note down you EMEI number, or remember it.

Step 2 : Log into AT&T’s website, tap in your account credentials, and proceed to AT&T’s Wireless Support Chat.

Step 3 : Give them your IMEI which you made a note of in Step 1.

Step 4 : Within 72 hours, you’ll be sent an e-mail notification stating your unlock is ready.

Step 5 : Finally, you’ll need to follow the remaining instructions in the e-mail, which consist of syncing and restoring to complete the process.

Done it – your hassle-free method to unlock your out of contract iPhone and that too from the comfort of your favorite sofa.

This process is detailed in an Apple support document that was referenced by the AT&T representative. Multiple device unlocks must be submitted through AT&T customer care and the maximum unlock codes that can be given for any account in a year is 5. For used devices, AT&T will check the account history of the original owner to make sure that the contract has been completed.

Remember that this is a service that AT&T will only perform if you have completed your original contract for the device. This should allow for users to easily unlock older AT&T iPhones for use with international roaming or pay-as-you-go plans.

iPhones will now operate on a handful of other carriers in the U.S. like U.S. Cellular and, in a limited 2G-only fashion, T-Mobile.

In the past we published a post on how to Root HTC One X On Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the easy way using Superboot utility. Toady, on Android 4.0.3 by flashing ClockworkMod recovery and SuperSU we are going to root One X handset. This Taiwanese smartphone manfacturer company is heading towards rival against Apple and Android with its “One” series of Android-based smartphones. HTC with just three models straightforward names – the One X, One S and One V – it shows that HTC has finally realised that Apple’s strategy og quality and quantity of products far more benificial than releasing a new flagship every few months.

The One X and One S were released in selected countries this past week. Both devices have received critical acclaim because of their industrial design, great cameras, reasonably good battery life and the ton of improvements in HTC Sense 4.0.

The HTC’s One X has picked up bt the Android comminity and managed to gain root access on the Android device. Those who are eager can follow our step by step guide on how HTC One X rooting is done after this break!

DISCLAIMER : Grabi will not be responsible if you lose any data from your device and damged so in this following guide. Proceed at your own risk.

Step 1 : Go to HTCDev.com [Link] and follow the instructions to unlock the bootloader of your HTC One X.

Step 2 : Download and setup the full Android SDK [Official Website] or just fastboot for your operating system.

Step 3 : Now download the following required files:

Interim ClockworkMod (CWM) Touch Recovery [MoDaCo Forums]: Transfer this to the fastboot folder inside your Android SDK folder on your computer.

CWM-Flashable version of SuperSU [XDA Developers]: Place this directly under /sdcard on your One X.

Step 4 : Connect your One X to your Computer via USB.

Step 5 : Shut down your HTC One X. Once it is completely turned off, press and hold Volume Down + Power buttons to boot into recovery.

Step 6: Open up a terminal app (e.g. Command Prompt on Windows, Terminal on OS X) and type in the following command:

fastboot flash recovery r1-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru.img

ClockworkMod Touch will now be flashed to your device.

Step 7: Now restart your One X and shut it down again. Follow Step 3 to boot into recovery again, except this time you’ll boot into ClockworkMod Recovery instead of your built-in recovery.

Step 8: Take a nandroid backup.

Step 9: Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and choose the SuperSU .zip file you downloaded in Step 2.

Step 10: From the main menu, select reboot system now.

If you followed the steps correctly, your HTC One X will now boot into your stock ROM but with root access. To confirm that you’ve rooted your device, look for SuperSU in your app drawer and then download a root-only app such as Wi-Fi Kill to test if you’ve achieved root or not. you can go ahead and download the first ever custom ROM for the HTC One X here [Official Thread]. Via
