Samsung has plans to announce a new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphone at the annual Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona later this month. An image of the unknown device was published on Thursday by industry insider Eldar Murtazin, though no additional details were provided.

Murtazin has stated that this device will be formally announced later this month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

We have no name for it yet, but one thing’s for sure, this isn’t the Galaxy S III. Firstly, because the Galaxy S III can’t just be a white Galaxy S II with different buttons and, secondly, because Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S III will not be announced at MWC. Instead, it will be unveiled at a separate event close to its commercial availability.

We heard yesterday that the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus rumored to come with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, a WVGA display and a dual core 1.5GHz processor, but now it looks like handset will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich instead.

Its similar to ClockworkMod Recovery you’re used to but not touch-enabled. While all the Android devices contain recovery console, which is just a partition on the phone or tablet’s internal memory and can be manually booted into and the official ‘stock’ options are very limited and allow things like a factory reset of the device and using an official ROM to recover the OS. Some times that’s all it required, but for many other hardcore Android tinkerer, additional, more powerful options are well needed.

Joushik Dutta is the one who developed the ClockworkMod, the same developer who has recently been considering bring an alternative, Cydia-like application store to modified/rooted Android devices. ClockworkMod is widely adopted custom recovery for devices to its availability for the most Android phones and Android tablets.

In his latest release, Dutta has sent out a beta version of a modified ClockworkMod Recovery which negates the need for any of the hardware based buttons on an Android device, and allows users to navigate through the recovery options using only the touchscreen.

If you are the owner of a CDMA or GSM Galaxy Nexus, or a GSM Nexus S then you can shoot on over to the ClockworkMod Google+ page and download the necessary .img files which are being hosted there, read on to learn how to install the new recovery Mod.

While this CWM recovery is still in beta form but works quite well, so note it right now. The normal navigation method (Volume keys and power button) still working as they were, so you don’t have to use the touchscreen. The installation process to allow the use of the CWM tool on a permanent basis is a relatively simple one. simply follow these five steps tutorial below:

Step 1: Head on over to the official ClockworkMod Google+ page and download the necessary .img file for your Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S.

Step 2: To boot your device make sure to up into Flashboot mode. This can be done by powering off the device, and then powering back on whilst holding the volume up and down buttons together. (Place the downloaded file in the folder your ADB and Fastboot files are (example: C:\SDK)

Step 3: Flash ClockWorkMod (fastboot flash recovery the-name-of-your-img-file.img).

Step 4: Reboot the device into the operating system (fastboot reboot).

Step 5: Once the reboot is complete, you now have the ClockWorkMod recovery installed on a permanent basis.

Ready to start, then make sure your Eee Pad TF101 is rooted and that you’ve flashed ClockworkMod Recovery. Very important requirements finally aside, to get started now.

Step 1: Download the following files:

Think you’ve downloaded them, simply transfer to the /sdcard directory on your device’s internal memory storage.

Step 2: From ROM Manager, hit Reboot to Recovery to boot your Eee Pad TF101 into ClockworkMod Recovery.

Step 3: From ClockworkMod Recovery, select wipe data / factory reset (settings default). In advanced, select wipe Dalvik cache as well as wipe cache.

Step 4: Time to flash the ROM. Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > tf101-ics4.0.3-20120121-cwm.zip.

Now, you’ll need to select flash icygappsv2.zip.

Step 5: From the main menu, select reboot system.

If you done the job correctly, you’ll boot into a very early alpha build of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich on your Eee Pad TF101 perfectly.

Step 6: Finally, download and install a CPU control app like SetCPU, No-frills CPU control or Antuantu and set them to interactive governor.

In our previous post we wrote that the Galaxy S III will be heading to launch at Mobile World Congress in February 2012,  but today we published that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released in April.

The Galaxy S III will come with a HD multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, it is also rumored to feature a quad core processor and a 12 megapixel camera.

Now with MWC it had been expected that we can see some great smartphones with the show offering a great place to announce newer handsets from Koreans soon. Samsung’s own executives seem to think that the whole Samsung Galaxy S III thing is under review. That almost confirms there will be no announcement just yet.

A photo has popped up of what appears to be the Samsung UAE website, with the new handset showing in a drop-down list. The Samsung GT-I9300 as it is expected to be known, is clearly visible in a list that includes all of Samsung’s smartphones.

CyanogenMod based custom ROM is called MIUI, and is one of the most popular custom builds to its awesome and distinct interface. Additional features such as better notification menu, enhanced Camera, Gallary and Music Apps as well.

We already shown you how to install MIUI on your HP TouchPad tablet, with the help of XDA-Developers, and however you can now install it on your Samsung Galaxy S II (S2). It’s well customized build, which will not disturb any basic functions in order to experience it, usually we are not too keen to advise you to test these custom ROMs on your primary device, because they are often full of bugs and unstable. This particular ROM is at version 2.1, so many of the usual caveats found in early alpha releases have been resolved.

If you already installed CyanogenMod on your Galaxy S II before, then you’ll need to boot into ClockworkMod Recovery, wipe /data and /cache partitions, before installing the downloaded .zip file from install zip from sdcard menu: similar work done in our previous tutorial: how to install CyanogenMd 7 (Alpha 3).

This the first time installing CyanogenMod, don’t panic, since installing MIUI on Galaxy S II isn’t that much difficult, You can check this guide how to install CyanogenMod (Alpha 11) for information on how you can install it with an ease.

Step 1: Download the AdyScorpiusMIUIv2.1-ICS-i9100-2.1.20.zip via this link. The file is over 100MB, so may take a few moments for those on slower connections.

Step 2: Once the download is complete, copy the .zip file to /sdcard.

Step 3: Boot your Galaxy SII into Recovery Mode.

Step 4: Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset, and then go to Mounts and Storage and select Wipe System.

Step 5: Install zip from sdcard – Version 2.1.

Step 6: Wipe Data/Factory Reset once more.

Step 7: Reboot your device, and you should be good to go.

If you are one of those uploading videos, YouTube’s pushed an update to Video editor. The first build of Google’s Android 4.0 ICS is now available for the HP TouchPad, which is an WebOS software running tablet, since its dropped the price, hackers have been installing Google Android on the HP TouchPad for months.

Until now, Android 2.3.x Gingerbread was only available for the HP tablet, today the CyanogenMod team has released CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 0 for the TouchPad. Android-based 4.0 OS includes Google’s new user interface which is well optimized for tablets without physical buttons. Well fitted for the HP TouchPad’s, which doesn’t have the home, back, and menu buttons found on most earlier Android phones and tablets.

While CyanogenMod 7 supporting tablet tweaks, with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based ROM isn’t exactly adept largerand higher-resolution screens seen on tablets. There are several other hackers and developers who were waiting for Android 4.x Ice Cream Sandwich features to be ported through for better compatibility.

Finally, the CyanogenMod 9 arrived as an Alpha 0 still pretty rough around the edges – the camera doesn’t work, and it never work in future though. There’s no other hardware video accleration, which means that Netflix won’t be working, and HD YouTube video won’t play at all. While the microphone doesn’t work and audio is glitchy.

Especially the Titanium Backup doesn’t work, which may fail various apps to show up in the Andoid Market. Actually, we already know about this, because CyanogenMod team has uploaded a video on YouTube showing Android 4.0 ICS running on HP TouchPad a few days back.

While installing Android 4.0, TouchPad rebooted several times unexpectedly. Don’t be scared, here’s how you can install CM9 on HP TouchPad.

Step 1: Install the Palm Novacom driver – the easiest is to use the Universal Novacom Installer. Simply download the .jar file from Google code, and Run.

Follow the instructions and it should now install Novacom on your computer. It will only work if Java is already installed. After done, you can check the above picture shows that Universalk Novacom installer created a folder called c:\Program Files\Palm, Inc.

Step 2: In this step, you will need to download the required files:

• New ACMEInstaller
• Clockwork Recovery (hasn’t been updated, so only install if you don’t already have it)
• Moboot
• Alpha0 CM9 for TouchPad

Step 3: Now drag ACMEInstaller into the same directory where your Novacom files are.

“Novacom is in your c:\Program Files\Palm, Inc directory, just copy ACMEInstaller2 to that directory.”

Step 4: Connect your HP TouchPad to your computer and enable USB mass storage mode by tapping the USB notification in the upper top right-hand corner of the screen.

Follow this: Use a USB cable that came along with your Tablet to connect to a PC, Mac or Linux. You should see a USB notification in the upper-right cornor of TouchPad. Simply Tap on it to enter USB drive mode.

Step 5: Now you’ll need to copy the remaining downloaded files to your TouchPad. Open your TouchPad using an explorer utility, and create a new folder called “cminstall”. Inside your newly-made folder, drag in those files we downloaded in Step 2. NB: they should not be extracted or unZIP just yet.

Files to copy from(Step2):

1. update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-alpha0-Touchpad-fullofbugs.zip
2. update-cwm_tenderloin-1012.zip
3. moboot_0.3.5.zip
4. gApps 4.0.3 11.12.22.zip

Step 6: Reboot your device, follow the instructions below:

1. Tap the home button and then hit the arrow icon to bring up a list of applications.
2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
3. Choose Device Info.
4. Select the red Reset Options button.
5. On the following screen (see image below) tap the Restart option.

Now press and hold the volume button and nce the screen goes dark, quickly hold the volume up button after which you’ll be met with a large USB icon on your TouchPad’s screen.

Step 7: Open a command prompt (Start > search “cmd”). Then type cd: \ which will take you to your root directory. Type “dir” in order to unveil the full list of directories. See below:

After your computer installs the drivers, it’s time to get ready to run ACMEInstaller. Here’s how you do that on a Windows computer:

1. Click the Start Menu.
2. Type “cmd” (without quotes) in the search box.
3. This will open a command prompt.
4. Type cd: \ to enter your root directory.
5. Navigate to the correct directory. Typing “dir” (without quotes) will show a list of directories.
6. On my computer, I next typed “cd Program Files” and hit enter, then “cd Palm, Inc” and hit enter again.

Step 8: Now you’re going to run ACMEInstaller. Enter “novacom.exe boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller2″ into the command prompt (See Step 7 for reference). You will begin to notice lines of text running across the screen of your device. Let the process run its course, after which you’ll need to boot into Moboot. You can opt to boot into CyanogenMod by tapping on the home button, or otherwise you can reboot to webOS by using the up and down volume arrows to navigate to the webOS option and then tapping home.

Note: Some users have reported that ACMEInstaller2 doesn’t automatically install gApps, but you can use ClockworkMod to install the gApps zip following the steps outlined below for applying the charging fix. Just substitute the gApps zip file for the update-chargerFix file.

Step 9: Install update-chargerFix [Optional]

You can download the update-chargerFix-alpha0.zip file from goo-inside.me or Techerrata. Then follow these steps to install it:

1. Place the zip file in the root directory of your TouchPad’s storage (or in a folder that you can remember).
2. Press-and-hold the power button to reboot the touchPad.
3. From the Moboot menu, choose ClockworkMod.
4. Use the volume keys to scroll down to the entry that says “install a zip from SDcard” and tap the home button to select.
5. Using the volume and home keys, highlight the update-chargerFix file and select it.
6. Scroll down to select yes.
7. When it’s done installing reboot into CyanogenMod.

Here’s that, you’re good to go. Since it provides the simplest tools for backing up and restoring your system, wiping data, or applying OS updates.
