Well we are here to help you find the top and most popular cloud, file storage services! What would be the hype when compitition begins amongst companies who provide such services is definitely heating up. First we’ll talk about Dropbox, which was a popular choice for quite some time but now somewhat dull, but the name comes first when you think of cloud storage, now its threatened by SkyDrive which has made its way today. Apple’s iCloud is another backup service also provides an unbeatable seamless backup/syncing experience for all users of iOS and Mac. Now, Search giant Google alos wants to put its foot step on the door of this cloud market with releasing Google Drive.

Those are all the best compititors and the biggest rivals amongst them, but here’s the big question to ask when trying to figure out pricing and free version for an online backup service and which would offer the unlimited cloud storage for your private files and documents, photos and videos. We have some comparition chart and summary about the above said cloud storage services so that you can surely choose the best Cloud Storage / Backup Service you should use.

Here’s what the Top most and major players of the service to offer.

Dropbox

Dropbox is one of the leading cloud startup known for its ease-of-use and functionality. But offering only 2GB of free storage space, Dropbox is the best cross-platform cloud service of the build. The clients for Windows, OS X, and Linux are well supported along with iOS iPad and iPhone, Android-based devices and runs on BlackBerry OS. In a simple way it mingles with each other. The major top part of this features file recovery of one month history of your work is stored, and you can also undo changes to files and even undelete them.

You can also get 1,000GB or more storage for a very costly price with the Dropbox teams that allow you which are mostly helpful for those who need such cloud storage and collaboration tools for business mans.

SkyDrive

Microsoft has pushed an updated cloud service in the form of SkyDrive, which has been around quite a time now and it came besting Dropbox in free storage space – offering upto 25GB – it lacked in features. Now SkyDrive Desktop clients have been released with a major update to its cloud storage service and enabled Windows and OS X, and all through the existing iOS and Windows Pphone SkyDrive apps updated as well. Using this cloud service you can remotely browse and grab files on your PC quickly and securely from anywhere in the world if you have an internet connection activated ON.

Most of the SkyDrive users only require 7GB or less of storage, they have actually knocked down the amount of free storage from 25GB to 7GB, unless you’re an older user of the service, then you can keep your 25GB for free. However, 7GB of storage is still3.5x more than offered by Dropbox, and if you need more storage space, even then its cheeper than Dropbox. It will cost you $199 a year, when you want to get 100GB of storage on Dropbox. While SkyDrive offers charges only $50 per anum.

iCloud

All those who use Apple products, surely use iCloud. It allows you seamlessly backup your iOS devices to the cloud-based service to sync photos and documents across all devices. Comes with 5GB of free storage to boot along with a 50GB storage upgrade which hypes your total storage capacity to 55GB – available for $100.iCloud offers far more features tailored towards Apple users (@me.com email address, Find My iPhone/Mac) than features for cloud storage. Better to use Dropbox or SkyDrive for free offer.

Google Drive

This is the service that was rumored to called to be Google Drive, nothing officially has been revealed yet. But this Google’s cloud storage service would definetely offer 5GB of space for free and basically implemented with Google’s ecosystem. Which would first offer this for Android phones as far as file sharing, syncing and backup would be amazing, to provide users with iCloud-like functionality.

As far as cross-platform file storage and syncing is concerned, SkyDrive is unbeatable. When you want unbeatably priced storage with good functionality behind it, and are situated with either Microsoft or Apple ecosystem-wise, SkyDrive is my top pick. While iCloud is also concerned as the best Cloud storage and Backup service when using an Apple iPhone, or iPad or Mac OS X.

Now you decide what should you prefer to have on your Windows, OS X or mobile platforms admitting that these are the top of the cloud file storage and backup services around. Choose yours now! Via Redmondpie

Now comes Kingsoft Office developed by Kinsoft Office Software Corporation Limited, aims to break the chain of overpriced productivity apps by pushing its free alternative to the Android uniquely. This would be the best one when any Play Store category offers good ones and bad ones and which are most probably expensive.

KingSoft Office suite boasts a plethora of great, essential features to anybody wishing to create, export, edit and share documents on the move, and since it doesn’t cost a cent, it’s only right that we bring it to your attention. You can view .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx files, and while you can’t create PowerPoint presentations, you can make Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in formats to support Office 2003 and earlier, or Office 2007 and later.

Boasting an easy-to-navigate user interface, Kingsoft Office works nicely on both the large screen of the tablet, and also, the smaller (albeit ever increasing) screen diameter of the smartphone. That said, Kingsoft Office also delivers when it comes to the smaller device, and altering the options to tailor your experience is very simple indeed.

Kingsoft Office has been updated 10 times since being published because the Kingsoft team are doing their very best to satisfy customers. Version 4.4.1: Improved: In the file manager, support for viewing shared documents in Google Docs. Improved: In Writer, improve the movement of pictures wrapped in Top and Bottom type. Fixed: In the file manager, fix the movement issue of document preview images, when duplicating documents in the home interface.

The reviews by Android users speak for themselves. several thousand reviews later, Kingston Office boasts a 4.5/5 rating, and with such an expansive set of features packed into a free app, it’s not difficult to ascertain why. Considering you can pay in excess of $20 for an average competitor Office Suite.

Like Dropbox, cloud storage services have been no doubt become more popular. Both Microsoft and Apple are involved in the space in some form, well on top of highly successful startups entirely dedicated to providing such services. Apart this, since 2010, there have been rumors that Google was planning to launch a cloud storage service, and more recently, it was revealed on good authority such a service was kept in the pipeline, and they called it as Google Drive.

According to The Next Web, Google Drive will debut next week, possibly on Tuesday or Wednesday. The service will offer 5GB of free cloud storage space, offering 5GB of storage for free; 3GB more than what is offered by Dropbox for the low cost of nothing. Mind you, SkyDrive, Microsoft’s offering in the space offers a generous 25GB of storage for free. which is 3GB more than Dropbox currently offers free users. Users will also be able to buy more storage in case 5GB just isn’t enough.

The service will work with both Windows and Macs “in desktop folders.” It’s not clear exactly what that means, but it could mean that Google Drive will upload and sync folders on users computers. Those folders would then be available through the Google Drive service on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

TechCrunch did receive a Google Drive app on OS X, which they were able to successfully download and run. It looks legit, however, it cannot connect to Google’s servers just yet as they haven’t flipped the switch enabling Google Drive.

If Google Drive does offer 5GB of free cloud storage, that could mean trouble for Dropbox which only offer 2GB for non-paid subscribers. Dropbox also doesn’t have the partnerships that we assume Google will have with Google Drive.

Google Drive will surely be tied into Google Apps, which is sure to prompt some to use the service. SkyDrive ties in well with Microsoft’s own online services ecosystem, and it will soon play a larger role in Windows 8 (and Windows Phone) in the form of apps and integration.

On the topic of pure, free storage space, SkyDrive certainly takes the cake. And, as far as trust, well, it’s up to the consumer really. Dropbox, Box.net and other cloud services could face a huge challenge next week, and may need to increase offerings and change strategies to compete with Google.

If you are an big user of Dropbox free storage service, now you can simply drag and drop files to share. Toady the Dropbox team has pushed this option for all, Chrome, Firefox and Safari users. The dropped handy feature by Dropbox is not supported by the Internet Explorer browser. Sorry for that!

If you use Dropbox for the web to upload, store, and share your files, you can now drag those files right into the appropriate folders:

Wanna see something awesome? If you use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, you can now upload files by dragging them from your desktop onto the Dropbox website. After Dropbox detects the upload, it’ll work its magic to get your stuff wherever you need it. This is just a small step toward giving you a simpler (and more fun!) dropbox.com.

We talk about the new feature, which is amazing when you’re using a public computer and need to share a file with anyone quickly. Without the need of the Dropbox desktop app or clicking through the the appropriate folder and choosing “upload”, this handles things in one simple step.

If you use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, you can now upload files by dragging them from your desktop onto the Dropbox website. After Dropbox detects the upload, it’ll work its magic to get your stuff wherever you need it. Isn’t it so simple!

Without any need to install plugins or add-ons, extensions on your browser, you can drag and drop your sharing files from your desired web browsers with just login and get the work done.

Be honest, this is a true offer, offered by Dropbox push you to an upgrade state by offering you a 16GB of free storage space, when you refer anyone to join Dropbox and take 500MB of free storage. So, are you ready for this Dropbox Cloud Storage offer! Details after this jump.

Dropbox, is one of the oldest and most popular online storage service that powers many of our online lives by giving us the ability to have all our documents, photos, PDF files with us right when we need them, is now doubling the amount of free space users service for referring a friend of family member to join the service. Get double? Double, i mean it!

Now what you have to do to get 16GB of free space? If you’re a user of the free Dropbox service then you’re going to receive 500MB of free storage per user you refer. That’s double the 250MB you would have received yesterday.

Me as an user of the free service can refer up to 32 people around the world, leaving those who don’t pay a penny to Dropbox potentially walking away with an extra 16GB of space.

Means, those who pay for Dropbox are also getting their referral reward doubled. Which actually means that users of the premium Dropbox service can gain 500MB for each person they refer, with a maximum of an extra 16GB on top of the space they already pay for.

I am not an affiliate of Dropbox service, and we don’t want to recommend you to do this, assuming you have enough people to refer, then the free Dropbox account is the way to do so. I am not a big user of Dropbox, but its the first one i used keeping not only my documents to sync, but the apps too. Dropbox was live before the iCloud service broght by Apple, that’s not the matter we are talking.

Think you heard about Google Drive! Would be one of the best online storage service to be launched as a rival to Dropbox-cloud service – is set to pushed in early April release. Here’s a screenshot that has surfaced on web, and mentioned as all the users will get 5GB of storage for free as standard, those can also be able to view and edit documents on their mobile handsets with installing Google Drive app.

This news came directly from Talk Android ([Breaking] Newest Google Drive Screenshot Shows 5GB of Free Storage), claims that they had captured screenshots from the Google Drive for Windows download page, well with some listed Google service features:

All your files — everywhere
Put files in Google Drive and your can access them on your desktop, mobile phone or tablet, and drive.google.com.

Always up to date
Make changes to a file in one place and it automatically updates everywhere.

5GB of free space
You get 5GB from the start, and you can upgrade to get more space at any time.

The Service seems almost similar to the Dropbox cloud, which allows you to save, store your private documents in the cloud server and then access them by using an internet connected decives anytime/anywhere. If you have made changes and updates, it will automatically toll out to each of your devices.

However, the Drive service hasn’t been announced yet. Google has already updating its support pages, and readying its own Google Drive Android app:

Editing documents in the Google Drive Android app requires ongoing syncs to update your documents, which can increase your bandwidth usage. Keep this in mind if you have a limited data plan with your mobile provider.

Thinking of the 5GB of free space is more than Dropbox’s 3GB Storage offered as standard. Apart this, there’s still no information to grab on the Google Drive iOS app, or any other mobile platform yet.

Well! Google Drive app for other platforms will be also available if the service really becomes a big rival against other free cloud storage services like the above one.

If you look at the screenshot above, The Google Drive on its company’s support page, also suggests that the service will be out soon and goes live next month. Via

The said company’s service has recently released a “Camera Uploads” feature that allowed users to directly sync the photos they take on the go with their smartphones with the desktop. Here’s that guide on how to instantly get 5GB of free space. Today, we’ve came with a new way to grab 23GB of free Dropbox space. You heared the right answer, Free 23 GB Dropbox from sense 4.0.

Note it down that this step may be in violation of users terms & conditions, we aren’t sure of the legitimacy of this method, as a few enthusiasts have stated this. If Dropbox finds you in violation of the terms & conditions you accepted upon signing up for the service, they may simply terminate your Dropbox account for ever.Proceed with caution and on your own risk.

DISCLAIMER : This guide isn’t mine and very musch used for testing and educational purposes only. Grabi is not to be responsible for any loss of data as a result of you following this guide.

Several others have tested this method have found to be working perfectly. The developer, however, has categorically stated that the method may not work for everyone.

Step 1 : Already having Dropbox Installed on your Android device, then Clear Data now, Force close and finally uninstall it from Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Dropbox.

Step 2 : Download and install the Dropbox+23GB APK [Dropbox Link].Make sure you have enabled Unknown sources under Settings > Security (on iCS) before installing the APK file!

Step 3 : Now launch the app as usual and Log in.

Step 4 : Simply wait for confirmation email.

The confirmation email can take up to 30 minutes to arrive, so please be patient. Once you get it, you may uninstall the XDA version of the Dropbox APK and install a fresh build from Google Play.

Dropbox is a the one most popular cloud storage and sync service in the market today, it syncs seamlessly with popular mobile, desktop platforms such as Android, Linux, Windows, OS X, etc. When you first sign up it will give you a 2.5GB of free starting storage space, the company regularly gives away free space for promoting their service and beta-testing preview releases.

Dropbox already have a fair share of competiors – Amazon Cloud Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive and SugarSync to name a few other – none of them have achieved the popularity or hype.

Well, Google is ready to launch a cloud storage service to compete with the Dropbox fully-featured syncing service with the Google Drive.

According to the recent reports, now Google is looking forward to get into the cloud storage and syncing game play. Google’s Drive, the search giant’s answer to Dropbox and Apple’s iCloud, is likely to launch in the next few weeks, sources say.

Google to offer the fully-featured cloud storage as a free hard drive in the sky, offering users a large amount of web-based storage, which connects devices to upload content to access through. The cloud service would synchronise files and content with Android phones and tablets, as well as with browser and operating system Chrome, sources say. It would mean that video filmed on an Android phone would instantly be uploaded to a central ‘cloud-storage’ drive.

The company already hosts photos/videos with Picasa Web, music with Google Music and documents with Google Docs, soon before they started offring a unified online storage space. The Wall Street Journal in the form of a report in which they cite “people familiar with the matter” who claim that Google will soon be launching a Dropbox-like service called Google Drive.

From Wall Street Journal:

Google Inc. is close to launching a cloud-storage service that would rival one of Silicon Valley’s hottest start-ups, cloud-storage provider Dropbox Inc., according to people familiar with the matter.

Following the reports, the Google’s service will launch in the coming weeks or months from now. It also offers the same as Dropbox’s service with a small amount of free space for home and small businesses use, well with the large space available, you require to pay some cash.

Google can offer more free space with its cloud storage service “Drive” at start. Microsoft’s Skydrive offers a smashing 25GB of free space, others like Dropbox, Android cloud storage, etc, offers cloud space start with a 2GB to 5GB. This would be the reason, users may jump to other platform for extra free storage sapce in cloud.

You aren’t aware of the company’s announced a similar cloud service called G Drive, in 2007, but never launched. Dropbox then made its way and subsequently turned down a nine-figure buyout offer. Apart from this What do you think Google can do to make folks shift to Google Drive from other services?

Be ready to for the Google’s cloud storage, Google Drive close to launch with all new features and extra free space for starter and many more to know in the future month.
