On September 15, all the three domestic phone makers such as Micromax, Karbonn and Spice are set to launch their Android One smartphones, and the date which is also the day for the Google’s scheduled event where it will be unveiling Android One officially in India. But before that, Spice has already spilled the beans on its Android One smartphone.
It will be called the Android One Dream UNO Mi-498, and already listed on Flipkart exclusively, which is priced at Rs. 6,999. Specifications below!
The Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display; powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM; sports a 5-megapixel rear camera; 2MP front-facing sensor; 4G ROM; microSD card support; packs 1700mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talktime and of 160 hours standby time.
Connectivity options include a dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, WiFi, Bluetooth, and as expected from Google’s offering, runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Pricing for the smartphone will be in sub-$100 range. At 6000 rupees, the Android One smartphone is actually priced at $115 roughly. Competing against the popular Motorola Moto E, and the recently hyped Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S, which will also offers a much better set of specs.
While the Micromax and Karbonn also follows the same trend with different name for their Android One smartphones. The former will retail its on Amazon and the latter will be on sale via Snapdeal, exclusively.
It comes with 35GB of Google Drive storage, Spice Cloud app with 10GB of free storage and pre-loaded apps such as Reverie Smartpad, Facebook and more.
