Today itself we’ve been speaking about Intex set to launch Firefox OS smartphone under Rs. 2,000 on August 25, but it’s too far away, now Spice Fire One Mi-FX1 launched with the same mobile operating system, but with a price tag of Rs. 2,229. Announced it as the country’s first Firefox OS smartphone and it will be made available for sale starting August 29.
Intex on the other hand on Thursday sent out invites for an August 25th event where it would launch “India’s lowest priced smartphone,” which in all probability is the Cloud FX Firefox OS handset announced in June under INR 2,000.
Apart this,Spice says that this all new Firefox OS smartphone is purely targeted to tap the mass market consumers who wanna switch to affordable (budget-range) smartphone.
The Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480 pixel) display; is powered by a 1GHz processor; sports a 2-megapixel rear camera, and there is a 1.3MP front-facing camera also onboard. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM); no 3G support, only 2G connectivity is available.
Other specifications include on the Fire One Mi-FX 1 are WiFi, multi language support (Hindi, Tamil, and Bangla), FM Radio, and Bluetooth. The company is also said its offering a free silicon cover in the box. The Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 runs on Firefox OS, comes preloaded with Marketplace, an app store for download. But not details the version of the Firefox OS.
