Sony Xperia A2 With Android 4.4 KitKat Reportedly To Be Available In Mid-June

Although NTT DoCoMo started taking pre-orders for some Xperia A2 smartphones, coded as SO-04F and was announced in May without revealing the availability date and price details. Now after a month the NTT Docomo has revealed that the Sony Xperia A2 will be available in mid-June 2014.

The Japanese operator now lists the Xperia A2 smartphone with mid-June availability with out any pricing, and according to the Xperia Blog, it claims that the Experia A2 will go on sale on the Japanese carrier on June 18. Still no official word on an exact date.

The specs seems to be more similar to the Xperia Z1 Compact, as A2 sports a 4.3-inch 720p Triluminos display with HD (720×1280 pixel) resolution. Powered by an unspecified 2.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Sony Xperia A2 poses with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensor along with a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats. Both cameras can shoot full-HD videos.This looks like a carbon copy of the Z1 Compact specs, though the dimensions are a bit different, at about 128 x 65 x 9.7mm, against 127 x 64.9 x 9.5 mm for the Z1 Compact.

The Sony Xperia A2 comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, while there is no word on expandable storage. The phone flaunts 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity. It is backed by a 2300mAh battery, and the handset, much like other Sony Xperia siblings, is dust and waterproof, with IPX5/IPX8 and IP5X certification.

The Xperia A2 has been listed with four color variants – Grey Black, Orange, Lavender and White. Will be hitting the Indian market shelves in mid-June.
