Sony Reveals Need For Speed With XQD Memory Cards

It is a good news for photographers! Sony is going to launch XQD memory card format in next month. It is also make happy the users who are not satisfied with the fastness of the Compact Flash Card. As Sony announced, their new format can read and write speeds with the fastness of 125MB/s.

After testing this XQD memory card on Nikon’s new D4 camera, Sony is claiming that “when XQD used in high-end digital cameras with continuous shooting mode, it can records nearly up to 100 frames in RAW format”.

The new XQD Memory card costs around $130 for 16GB capacity and around $230 for 32GB capacity. Sony is ready to offer a USB 2.0/3.0-compatible XQD card reader at the cost of around $45 for the users who are regularly exchange the memory cards one to another. It is also releasing an adapter.
