Now, it looks like Samsung is rolling out the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for its Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9300i) in Kazakhstan, the OTA update is available via Kies, and bumps the build number to I9300IXXUBNH3.
According to the SamMobile, who discovered an Android 4.4.4 update release for the Galaxy S3 Neo and it’s a little strange that Samsung would roll out the 4.4.4 KitKat to the the older S3 Neo, instead of newer models, which is no in Samsung’s region of focus.
Currently, the Optus in Australia and some other carriers in the United Kingdom are rolling out the Android KitKat version 4.4.4 update for Galaxy S5 and S5 LTE-A. For the U.S., Sprint will carry the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for its S5 and Galaxy Note 3.
Although it’s clear and fair to note that the two latest Samsung devices, the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4 will come running Android 4.4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box. And when compared with the HTC, Sony and Motorola, Samsung is far behind in pushing out the Android 4.4.4 update.
However, the latest update receiving by the handset only provides a security patch, users are still interested in the update, because it carries the major patches made in 4.4.3 KitKat, that fixes a number of issues with Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade.
Apart the aforementioned, the change log for the update is not available though, but it’s nothing bigger than expected, rather focuses mainly on bug fixes and performance improvements. Currently, the update is rolling out in Kazakhstan, and should received in other regions in the coming weeks.
You can now simply go to Settings and check for the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat update manually, or connect your Galaxy Note 3 Neo to your computer via Kies. That’s it!
