The South Korean smartphone and phablet maker is rolling out a similar firmware update to its Galaxy Note 3, which was launched for Galaxy S4 in May last year.
The UK Smasung Galaxy Note 3 running on Snapdragon 800 processor is reportedly getting a new firmware update, packs some of the TouchWiz features on the Galaxy S5, rather it doesn’t bring a new Android version.
The update for the Galaxy Note 3 includes the T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 3 got on June 1, brings the newest version of Samsung KNOX 2.0 security feature, includes Kids Mode and the most interesting, the Download Booster support. All three features were first seen in the Galaxy S5 smartphone out-of-box.
The Knox 2.0 security software for the Galaxy Note 3 comes as a part of the update ((firmware N9005XXUFNF4), bringing new features such as KNOX Workshop, EMM, Marketplace and Customization.
The Kids Mode includes in the firmware update for Note 3, which is a way to let youngsters (children) play specific games on the Galaxy Note III phablet, while all other apps are locked down and safe from accidental taps.
The third best feature that coming to the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 is the Download Booster, allows users to download files quicker and easier than before. The Download Booster combines the 4G LTE wireless speed with the Wi-Fi speed together to boot up large-sized files with the maximum download speed as possible.
According to the XDA Developers forum member, who indicated some improvements in the battery life of the Galaxy Note 3 along with some performance enhancements, animations with the firmware update.
The firmware update version N9005XXUFNF4 is however said to be rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 models in the UK region currently. The same will gradually arrive in different regions later as an OTA update, sized at 185MB.
