We shared some good and bad news on Amazon’s update for its Kindle Fire tablet few days ago. The update, version 6.2.1, brought a patch that broke all previous methods to root Kindle Fire, along with best additions like WiFi passwords, improved scrolling and more. Today, one of the root tool released for the updated Kindle Fire called BurritoRoot that works just for older versions of Kindle Fire’s software as well as on the latest 6.2.1. Android Police and RootWiki both releases this utility for all users.

The root tool can be found in a form of exclusive post in which we discuss the tool and the steps involved using it to root the Kindle Fire.
From Android Police:
(..) Our own Justin Case got right to work; and after a night’s worth of coding, with a group of fellow devs helping him through the testing process, he developed a new method to root the Kindle Fire — a method that works not only on software 6.2.1, but on all currently known versions of the Fire’s OS (future updates make break this).

Be sure to set up ADB [Android Developers] on your PC before you continue. You will be needing it in the last few steps.
Step 1 : Download RootzWiki and Android Police’s root tool [MultiUpload].
Step 2 : Connect your Kindle Fire with your PC.
Step 3 : Launch the root tool and click on Root.
Step 4 : Using a command prompt, type:
adb root
Step 5 : Download Superuser [MultiUpload] and extract its contents.
Step 6 : Once again, using a command prompt, type the following commands:
adb remount
adb push su /system/xbin/su
adb shell chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su
adb install com.noshufou.android.su-1.apk
adb reboot
Right now ! if you followed the above steps correctly, your Kindle Fire will be rooted successfully.
Note : Rooting may disable your ability to use Amazons’ integrated services but, thankfully, you can temporarily unroot the tool so you can, you know, download a song or a book or anything else. Via
