You can now root your Sony’s new Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, and also punch on a custom recovery for all your flashing needs. Courtesy of recognized developer DoomLoRD, you have got the support for rooting and recovery tools.
In order to do this, you’ll need a model of either with an unlocked bootloader (stock firmware or ROMs based on it), and obviously need to flash a custom kernel. Once you’ve done the process, you’ll eventually have the access to a ClockWorkMod custom recover (v184.108.40.206).
If you would like to root your Z3 or Z3 Compact from that point, then, you’ll have to download SuperSU and save it onto phone’s SD card and flash it via CWM.
Notably, it is recommended by the developer that the best part is to download BusyBox right after rooting, and install it in /system/xbin.
Currently, the list of known issues is very short, you’ll only have to settle for not being able to use adb through the recovery. As per the DooMLoRD, this can also be solved later and for now, right away – you can enjoy your newly-found freedom (granted you have one of the two new Xperia Z3’s).
How to install guide and instructions are placed below, head over to the source links and try it yourself on your Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact. Happy flashing, rooting! (Via PhoneArena)
