Nokia’s custom Z Launcher is ready for prime-time release from pre-beta – now lands in the Play Store and works with the all new Nokia N1 tablet, announced already. Although, Nokia launched its Nokia Z launcher for Android in Beta back in June this year and has also received several updates in the past few months after its launch. Now made its available for download on Google Play.
Actually, Nokia at the Slush 14 keynote in Helsinki, Nokia Technologies’s Head of Products Sebastian Nyström unveiled its first Android tablet, the Nokia N1 running on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. And further launched the Nokia Z Launcher Beta for Android.
However, the Z Launcher on the Lollipop-running Nokia N1 tablet is an exclusive version, but the generic version can be availed from the Play Store for a small taste of the experience developed by Nokia, updated with new features.
The new Nokia Z Launcher includes:
- Faster – Small speed improvements from optimizations on specific handsets to obscure things like “finger tracking latency”.
- Better Prediction
- Refined Scribble – Improved recognition and response time
- Support to run on rooted devices
The company has also added some of its best configurations of favorite apps, hiding apps, and more device support. the new Launcher app is currently available for consumers in the US and Europe. Those can now be able to download Nokia Z Launcher for Android 4.0 or later from Google Play Store. Users from other regions can still download the Android Z Launcher from the official website
Notably, Nokia has also updated Z Launcher ahead of its public beta release with improvements to speed and performance, scribble recognition, and its prediction algorithm that pulls up apps users will need most. Now supports rooted Android devices as well.
