Netflix product team member Roma De explains the holdup in a blog post. Essentially, the sheer number of different Android devices available is problematic, because Android lacks “standard streaming-playback features that the Netflix application can use to gain broad penetration across all available Android phones,” De wrote.

Actually, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad are capable to run Netflix App and even Windows Phone 7 Too supports, But why not all the Android Phones ? because Netflix would only have a deal with a small number of Devices on these Platforms.

Netflix explains that while the app is currently limited to phones with “requisite playback support,” it anticipates that many of the “technical challenges will be resolved in the coming months,” and that it will be able to “provide a Netflix application that will work on a large majority of Android phones.” Via
