Ahead of Motorola’s highly-anticipated September 4 launch event in Chicago, we’re once again treated with a leaked image suggesting to be the successor to the Moto X.
First and foremost, Motorola Moto X+1 showed up on official website back in May this year, and again rumored that the Moto X successor will come to Verizon on September 25th. Now the purported press shots of the Moto X+1 have been leaked.
Thanks to @evleaks who have shared these images of the alleged Moto X+1 on twitter. Evan Blass, popularly known as evleaks, also notes in a tweet, “My retirement gift to you.”
The alleged Moto X+1 render from the tipster goes well in-line with previous leaks and shows the purported handset with Verizon branding, tipping that the Moto X successor will be available on the mobile carrier. Further shows the smartphone in two versions – one Black, and the other with a wooden back.
Although, the image doesn’t show the sides of the handset, but clearly shows aluminum finish on top and a dual front-facing speakers and several sensors on all corners. The back of the device is seen with the rear camera in the center just above the Motorola logo, and is accompanied by dual-LED flash lights placed on the both sides of the camera.
Note: The leaked render also show the display of the alleged Moto X+1 with a September 17 date, which can be seen in the middle of the screen, suggesting that the handset might hit the shelves for Verizon on the same date.
As per the PhoneArena report, it points out that the red messaging app seen in the render is the one usually seen on Verizon-powered devices and indicates that the Moto X successor might come with some bloatware preloaded.
Motorola has already started sending invitations for a pre-IFA event on September 4, where it is expected to launch the successors of the Moto X and Moto G – rumored Moto X+1 and Moto G2 respectively – alongside its much-awaited Moto 360 smartwatch. In India, Motorola also confirmed an even on September 5.
Alleged specifications on the Moto X+1 would come with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 12MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera and a 2900 mAh battery.
