Officially announced back in July, the LG G3 Beat went on pre-order earlier this month. Followed by, today LG has launched its G3’s mid-tier variant in India. It packs a 5-inch HD display with a screen-to-body ratio of 74.1 percent, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC with Adreno 305 GPU and runs Android 4.4 Kitkat with new Flat UI.
As far as the specifications goes, the G3 Beat sports the same ‘Floating Arc Design’ as seen on the official LG G3 smartphone with smooth curved sides and gradually tapered edges. The highlight of this handset would be its 8-megapixel rear camera which comes with a Laser Autofocus sensor seen on G3, while also houses a 1.3MP front-facing camera as well.
The smartphone comes with a screen offering 294ppi density and the company has dropped the resolution from QHD (1440×2560 pixels) on the LG G3 to the considerably lower High-definition (720x1280p) resolution on this mid-tier model. It’s paired with 2GB of RAM, includes 8GB ROM, comes with microSD card expansion and is backed up by a 2549mAh battery on-board.
It also introduced with some of the preloaded software capabilities that includes; Touch and Shoot, which allows anywhere on the display to focus and shoot; Gesture Shot, which begins automatic three-second countdown before the picture is captured by just a hand gesture; Smart Keyboard, and QuickMemo+, LG’s own revamped note taking app.
Connectivity options on the smart-gadget offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Micro-USB, 3G and 4G LTE support, and finally, the phone measures 137.7×69.6×10.3mm and weighs 134 grams.
