LG Announces Start Of Pen-Enabled G3 Stylus Global Launch

Just after rolling out plans for the LG’s L Fino and L Bello smartphones, the South Korean giant has officially confirmed the global roll out of the LG G3 variant, G3 Stylus – as the name indicates comes with a stylus packed.


LG is officially rolling out a new variant of its G3 phone for stylus fans. Debuting in Brazil this week, followed by other markets in Latin America, Central Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the coming weeks.

The new LG G3 Stylus is a pen-enabled handset equipped with a stylus (Rubberdium stylus) that slides tight into the side of the phone. The smartphone is optimized for various 3G markets, will be available in both single SIM and dual-SIM variants. It will be coming in Black, Gold, and White colors.

Users will be able to jot and sketch using LG’s QuickMemo+ app, but the stylus is also compatible with a variety of third-party Android handwriting and drawing apps. The G3 Stylus offers a slightly curved back and gradually tapered edges that LG dubs a “floating arc.”

Like the LG G3, on the G3 Stylus, the Dual Window feature lets you view and use two apps at the same time. With the Smart Keyboard, which tries to adopt to your typing style and the KnockCode feature lets you create a pattern on the screen to lock and unlock the handset.

LG_G3_StylusThe Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based LG G3 Stylus features UX derived from the LG G3, include the Touch and Shoot support, which eventually clicks images by tapping anywhere on the display to focus and shoot in one single step, and Gesture Shot in the camera allows users to open and close a hand in front of the lens to start a three-second countdown for the shutter on the LG G3 Stylus.

Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, the G3 Stylus offers a 5.5-inch 960×540-pixel screen, 8GB of storage space, a MicroSD slot, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a removable 3,000mAh battery, and 3G network compatibility. Still paired with 1GB of RAM, it measures 149.3×75.9×10.2mm and weighs 163 grams.

Pricing for the G3 Stylus: LG said that it will reveal prices and other details when the phone actually launches in its local markets.
