Now that it looks like Lenovo with a 6″ K920 smartphone with Android’s latest operating system 4.4.x could be considered either a monster of a phone or a phablet. Lenovoi brings a serious competition to Samsung’s unannounced Galaxy Note 4 and revealed its new flagship smartphone, Lenovo K920 at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai.
The device will be smaller brother to Lenovo Vibe Z, bears the model number K910 and the purpose of the new device becomes instantly clear, but got no official word on the pricing and availability of the Lenovo K920. The Chinese handset maker has also not confirmed the plans to launch this 6-inch device outside China.
Although this smartphone currently appears to be a China Mobile exclusive as it includes the logo branding of the operator on the back panel, and according to Chinese publications, here are the features list and specifications of the Lenovo K920 smartphone-cum-tablet.
The Lenovo K920 features a unibody design that looks metallic but it isn’t, which include a 6-inch Quad-HD (2560×1440 pixels) touchscreen display, up against the likes of the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7 – also sports a similar QHD display.
The Lenovo K920 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-box with the company’s proprietary UI on top. The K920 has support for China Mobile’s TD-LTE, complete with dual-SIM functionality.
The Lenovo K920 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, and paired with 3GB of RAM. Currently, the flagship devices from Samsung, HTC, and Sony are powered by the same chipset. And K920 will be a big rival to all the branded smartphones and phablets in the coming days.
This new Lenovo’s K920 smart device sports a 16-megapixel rear facing camera and houses a 5MP front snapper. Got 32GB internal storage on the K920 with no word on expandable memory. Finally it supports NFC connectivity.
Update 1x: The Lenovo K920 got an Optical Anti-Shake next to the camera sensor in the back, which Lenovo is going to call it the Optical Image Stabilization feature that we know from smartphones made by other companies.
