Yet another Chinese OEM keen to grab the smartphone market and particularly targeting the OnePlus One handset tagged as the ‘flagship killer’ with its new device. Gionee has unveiled its second phone into the market.
Meet the Gionee’s successor to the U2, the IUNI 3 announced and introduced it with powerful features and specifications that in fact aims to be available at an affordable price tag. Availability starts next month, stay tuned!
The IUNI 3 comes with a 5.5-inch (2560×1440 pixels) resolution QHD 2K display made by Sharp, and the 538ppi screen is adorned by slim bezels and has takes up the impressive 77% of the device’s body. Powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The rest of the IUNI U3 specs sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Sony sensor and optical image stabilization and a 4MP ‘Ultrapixel’ selfie camera and it packs 3000mAh battery.
The Gionee IUNI 3 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and it is a dual-SIM smartphone supports LTE connectivity options. Priced at just 1999 CYN or $325 in China. The device will be offered in White, Green and Black color variants.
The device is expected to get a perfect English ROM, unlike U2 this IUNI 3 international customers will be catered to as though. Additionally, to make an impact outside of China they need to release a multi-language ROM.

The phone could be the first Mediatek MT6595 phone on the market. IUNI are targeting the newly launched Xiaomi Mi4 in the marketing with U3. The IUNI U3 is expected to be available in limited numbers in the first half of September.
