Intel Unveils New Atom-Powered Education Tablets To The Android Market

Intel is brand name generally became most popular in the business of selling mobile devices, chipsets, and now it comes to educational products. In the past it has offered the classmate PC Laptops, but now, in a new manner rolling out a pair of school-friendly tablets. About Intel’s new Android-powered tablet can be found after the break.

This time, Intel launche Atom-powered Android tablets to target schools. Upcoming Atom chips from Intel will now appear in education tablets priced as low as $150, reportedly. The new tablets that created by Intel are available with either 7-inch or 10-inch screens and come running Android mobile operating system and powered by Intel’s Atom processor.

The 7-inch Intel Education Tablet uses an Intel Atom Z2420 CPU and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, where as the 10-inch model is powered by an Atom 2460 chip and runs Android 4.0 OS. Both educational tablets will come apparently with 1GB of RAM, with a 7″ Education Tablet includes 8GB of flash storage and the 10-inch version with a 16GB storage on board.

Review: The Intel 7-inch Education tablet offers a 1024 x 600 pxels resolution screen powered by an Atom chip clocked at 1.2GHz processor supported by 1GB of RAM, with a dual camera mode and 8GB of inbuilt storage capacity.

The bigger 10-inch Education Tablet offers 1280×800 pixels respectively and powered by a slightly faster Intel Atom processor running 1.6GHz processor supported by 1GB of RAM, dual cameras, and a double the storage of 7-inch – makes it total of 16GB. The 10-inch Intel tablet also includes a digital stylus (available as an option for the 7-inch model as well)

Both Intel tablets are well protected from accidental exposure to dust and water. All in all Intel Education Tablets are IP41-certified. Most importantly, Intel has equipped some of the best learning tools at the center of the Education Tablet experience, such as; the built-in software suite that includes apps for science and arts, an electronic textbook reader, and camera-based software for science-related projects.

Other optional accessories include a snap-on magnifying lens for the rear-facing camera as well as a temperature probe. In order to help school student’s, Intel has also packaged a classroom management app and security software on their new Education Tablets, like Parents Carefree and Intel Education Theft Deterrent.

These aforementioned volumes purchased by education institutions, Intel Education Tablets aren’t yet available to consumers, and we got no pricing information which has not yet been provided.  More information about the Education Tablets can be found on the official Intel website.
