HTC Desire 616 Dual-SIM Smartphone Launched With Octa-Core SoC [Singapore]

It’s official now! Finally the much-rumored octa-core processor running HTC Desire 616 has now been made available in Singapore at SGD 298 price tag ((roughly Rs. 14,335) in India. Full details after this break!

The HTC’s Hong-Kong website listed the Desire 616, also been reportedly launched in China, and is now gone for sale across North Asia, South Asia and Russia as well. Currently, the Taiwanese smartphone maker, HTC has no plans on making the Desire 616 available outside Asia, according to the HTC Spokesperson.

The HTC Desire 616 is of course an Android running device, but for now, the company has not provided on which version the phone runs on. As per the listing, the Desire 616 smartphone features a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution screen.

The dual-SIM HTC smartphone supports regular SIM, and one Micro-SIM. Desire 616 powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. While the previous report indicated the handset to sport a MediaTek-made octa-core processor.

The HTC’s Desire 616 handset houses an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and capable of recording 720p full-HD video. The smartphone comes with 4GB internal storage, which can further upgraded (expandable) up to 32GB via microSD card.

Connectivity options on the HTC Desire 616 include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, GPRS/ EDGE and 3G. Available in two White and Black color variants, and the gadget is packed with a 2000mAh battery, which desire to give up to 14 hours of talktime in 3G connectivity. Desire 616 measures 142×71.9×9.15mm and weighs 150 grams.
