HP launched TouchPad Tablets last Month and came with a 16GB and 32GB Models available $499.99 AND $599.99 Respectively. Thousands of HP TouchPad Tablets were sold in the July Month after Launch and gradually slowed down the sales in August 2011.
Because of the Slower performance of the WebOS Hardware compared to the Currently running Tablets and WebOS was never accepted by the Developers. According to the memo sent to the HP retailers and Partners:
HP will be lowering the price of the TouchPad beginning Saturday 8/20/11. This is the lowest price ever for the TouchPad so please post it as soon as it goes live.
