Smartwatch is something the world is looking forward, already introduced by Samsung, LG, Google, even Apple Watch announced, and now it looks like, following other trendy wearables, the company like HP also planning to introduce us with a smart-wearable tech.
Although, HP announced a collaboration with fashion designer Micheal Bastian for a new smartwatch that would appeal to more than geek. Online retailer Gilt will be selling the new watch this coming Friday and the Wall Street Journal has gotten a first glimpse at the HP Smartwatch.
Called it HP MB Chronowing, a smartwatch developed with the most stylish wearable watch that we can soon buy. The MB Chronowing smartwatch will be available exclusively via Gilt from November 7, at $349 (approximately Rs. 21,400) for a silver-plated model.
Limted-edition variant of the MB Chronowing in black with sapphire glass and an alligator strap will be available at. $649 (approximately Rs. 39,900). Only 300 units will be available. The MB Chronowing wouldn’t look out of place in a glass case full of traditional chronometer-style watches.
The silver finish metal HP MB Chronowing watch is water resistant upto 50 metres and can be worn with a variety of three bands ranging from rubber, nylon and leather. Interesting is that it will work with both Android and iOS devices. It can connect to devices running Android 4.3 or higher and iPhone 5s or new models up to iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
However, the HP Watch doesn’t include a touchscreen or a microphone for voice commands like most smartwatches. It features a monochrome LCD display for notifications, messages, weather information, stock prices and more, along with a small timepiece dial and is water resistant up to 5ATM and auto-syncs to any time zone.
According to the WSJ, the MB Chronowing includes three buttons on its 44mm dial for menu, a built-in light and phone’s music player control. For notifications, the MB Chronowing uses gentle vibrations and has a battery life of approximately seven days.
The price is competitive and that gives it the edge over the Apple Watch, Moto 360, LG G Watch R and the Samsung Galaxy Gear. If you want to buy a nice watch that happens to also alert you to new messages or emails, the MB Chronowing could be an appealing choice.
