As promised few minutes ago,with full instructions on how you can perform an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 based on pod2g’s discovered exploit is here. Just few minutes agom Pod2g’s 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak exploit’s code was given to iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team. Pod2g is now focusing on A5 devices (such as iPhone 4S & iPad 2).

Since the links for Redsn0w & GreenPois0n jailbreak tools are not ready yet, here’s an alternate method for the untethered jailbreak. So, you can now currentlyy use a new jailbreak tool available in Cydia named “Corona” to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered. Below steps shows you how to perform an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4.

The Cydia tweak called” Corona” developed by P0sixninja, memberof Chronic Dev Team, and uploaded it Cydia users who are tethered jailbreak on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1.

First of all, you need a tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w version. Follow this guide posted here, perform tethered jailbreak on A4 device running iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.0.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered (users who are in tethered JB)

Step 1 : Making clear your device is already jailbroken, navigate to Cydia and leave it till the update is finished.

Step 2 : Once updated, now search for “Corona 5.0.1 untether” under BigBoss repository and you’ll be able to download it for free by simply hitying the “Install” button on the top roght of your screen.

Step 3 : Once done, you’ll now need to reboot your device and get your untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1.

Note : The jailbreak released is supported on all A4 based (and below) devices like iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1. Newer A5-based devices like iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are currently not supported. Stay tuned for guides for both Redsn0w and Greenpois0n jailbreak tools.
