Quite a few new Android tablets were featured at CES 2012, and many of them have the potential to be top sellers in 2012. Apple loyalists, of course, will wait for the iPad 3’s release later this year. However, there’s a whole market of Android smartphone enthusiasts who will be interested in what Android technology has to offer to the tablet sphere in 2012. If you’re curious about what you can expect from Android tablets this year, here are some of the Android tablets you should watch out for:

The Pantech Element , which will sell for $300, is a great deal considering everything it offers. It will be 8 inches with 16GB of memory and will run on AT&T’s lightning fast 4G LTE network. One of the coolest things about this tablet is that it’s waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally spilling a drink on it and having to shell out another $300 to buy another one.

The Toshiba Excite X10 will sell for a relatively reasonable $525, if you go with the entry-level 16GB version. This tablet will be one of the thinnest 10-inch tablets on the market. It’s screen will be made out of the most durable Gorilla glass, and it will boast a 1.2 GHz processor plus front and rear facing cameras, 2 megapixels and 5 megapixels respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is expected to be the iPad 3’s biggest competitor this year. It will be in the same price range as its Apple competitor and will be worth every penny for serious tablet owners. This new tablet from Samsung will be 7.7 inches with an AMOLED screen, several different ports, and a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. Not to mention, this bad boy will be connected to Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

The Asus eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700 will be the successor to the current Asus eee Pad Transformer. It will include everything that makes its predecessor great like its Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processer, Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and ability to transform into a laptop. Plus, it will come with the additional perk of a 1080p screen. This tablet is expected to sell for around $500 when it’s released sometime in the summer of 2012.

The tablets mentioned above are just some of the few highly anticipated Android tablets of 2012. Android fans should get ready for quite a year of exciting tablet advances!
