It looks like its the battle between affordable smartphone flagships. Hot in scene are Samsung, Apple, HTC, Sony, Windows Phone 8, Android and on the heels now with TCL / Alcatel’s awesome $280 Idol X comes word of Gionee’s ELIFE E6.
In India, Micromax might be the one native smartphone maker, and already produced some clones for Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S4, and the company has also got a tough road ahead with the onslaught of incoming competition in the form of budget priced high-end Chinese devices. Similar to that fashion, yet another one came out was the Gionee. Taking advantage of the purported Blue Life One rebrand (dubbed the Canvas 4), which Micromax is currently headed towards.
Gionee has set up time for the big reveal of their next flagship smartphone accurately with ELIFE E6, the company’s flagship handset integrated with 1.5ghZ SoC quad-core cpu (MediaTek MT6589T) with 2GB RAM. Gionee’s ELIFE E6 packed with a 13-megapixel rear BSI camera with flash.
The Chinese handset allegedly features a 5MP front-facing camera and 2000mAh+ battery, and more of runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system and features a svelte 8mm profile. The ELIFE E6 represents excellent value for the price it is commanding. Gionee’s latest will be going up against the likes of the UMI X2, Iocean X7, Karbonn Titanium S6, Zopo ZP980 and other phones equipped with similar specs when it finally hits the smartphone market.

Gionee is officially expected to launch the ELIFE E6 in Beijing on July 10th for somewhere betweenRs. 18,000 ($320) to Rs. 20,000 ($360). Availability is unknown, but the smartphone with MediaTek’s SoC will be supporting both 42Mbps HSPA+ and TD-SCDMA. But this Gionee’s ELIFE E6 smartphone will not support LTE and perfectly be unveiled for China, India and other APAC nations.
