MS-DOS was my favorite operating system when I first bought a 386 chip based computer. I still love playing some old DOS games like PCMan, BounceBall etc., but most of the newer versions of Windows don’t support such DOS games and applications fully.

DOS Game on DOSBox

DOSBox for Windows creates a full DOS environment to run older DOS application on windows operating systems. DOSBox can be download from it’s website and you will also find a big list of DOS applications and games compatible to run with DOSBox.

DOSBox is available not only for Windows, but can be installed on Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and many other modern operating systems. A separate installer is provided to setup DOSBox on different operating systems.

Of course you need to remember those old commands for DOS to mount and run applications, walk over the directories and search files through them. If you still have those old applications with you there is every chance to run them on DOSBox.

DOSBox is open-source and completely free to download and use.
