Apple apparently announced that users from China can now use the Chinese top-most UnionPay bank network to make purchases in iOS App Store of Apple. The company also sticks with a deal to China UnionPay which will eventually allow users to connect with their Apple ID to one of UnionPay’s debit or credit cards in order to make faster purchases through their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Chinese Apple customers will now be able to link their ID with a debit card or credit card from UnionPay, which is one of the best payment card with a network of 4.5 billion cards. Before you go ahead, first and foremost, Apple’s customers in China will have to transfer money into their App Store accounts, before buying any apps. In fact with this deal, the iOS users will be charged directly each time when they buy anything.
“The ability to buy apps and make purchases using UnionPay cards has been one of the most requested features from our customers in China. China is already our second largest market for app downloads, and now we’re providing users with an incredibly convenient way to purchase their favorite apps with just one-tap.”
said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
Although, China is the Apple’s second largest App Store market and with the UnionPay collaboration, could potentially open the doors for Apple Pay in China.
