It is now official that the announcement of Microsoft Surfaced after a large number of rumors and speculations. It sounds like a great effort from the company to launch their product in the Tablet market. It has really given a poor performance to the competetion of ipads and now the company thinks that its new introduction will be huge.

This tablet will be a game-changer, as you see the photo’s of this product the design seems to be a different one and we have not seen any thing like this in the market. It is packed with ultra-light magnesium body and elegently finished with PVD, and the screen seems to hardened by the Gorilla Glass which was used by Cupertino rival Apple in there different digital products. But its edges are beveled at 22 degrees angle and it makes the device “feel natural in your hands”. As per microsofts Steven Sinofsky, the only bad point seems to be that the finish which does not look good by any means.

It is now the only tablet in the world which has got liquid metal finish and it is also got nifty in-built kickstand which will make to stand the device freely for watching the movies and it can purchase any third party accessories.

The unique feature seems to be the cover which clips on magnetically doubles as a touch enabled keyboard. As per microsoft this feature seems to be an essential one for the purchasers of the Tablet. With its three millimeter thin cover it looks stunning and it bulks out when being used as a cover.

If you ask me the most interesting thing seems to be the Stylus of the tablet and it is designed in such a way that it makes you feel so great about writing and it feels very natural and it is some thing which was not achieved by the device of this calibre. We forgot to mention that the Stylus magnetically latches to the surface body.

When compared to iPad it is larger almost an inch and it has got a 10.6 inch display and it offers more screen real-estate than any other Tablet is offering right now. Semantic Zoom offers seamless Windows experience and you can download games, movies and some general content through the windows store. There i98s a lot of space for the content to be stored because it has got 32 and 64 version available on it.

Microsoft surface has a great chance to knock out the ipad and not only that it threatens the ultrabook market, and it also surfaces the Windows Rt.And it will be packing Intel chips and with full windows running desktop apps .

The only draw back seems to be is the decent hardware announcement but Microsoft seems to be confident about its stunning surface look and challenges that it could turn the tablet market upside down.

Down you can see the video of the promo of new surface tablet, and we wish the sales of the product goes immediately high after the event.

ADVANCES IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Conceived, designed and engineered entirely by Microsoft employees, and building on the company’s 30-year history manufacturing hardware, Surface represents a unique vision for the seamless expression of entertainment and creativity. Extensive investment in industrial design and real user experience includes the following highlights:

Software takes center stage: Surface sports a full-sized USB port and a 16:9 aspect ratio – the industry standard for HD. It has edges angled at 22 degrees, a natural position for the PC at rest or in active use, letting the hardware fade into the background and the software stand out.

VaporMg: The casing of Surface is created using a unique approach called VaporMg (pronounced Vapor-Mag), a combination of material selection and process to mold metal and deposit particles that creates a finish akin to a luxury watch. Starting with magnesium, parts can be molded as thin as .65 mm, thinner than the typical credit card, to create a product that is thin, light and rigid/strong.

Integrated Kickstand: The unique VaporMg approach also enables a built-in kickstand that lets you transition Surface from active use to passive consumption – watching a movie or even using the HD front- or rear-facing video cameras. The kickstand is there when needed, and disappears when not in use, with no extra weight or thickness.

Touch Cover: The 3 mm Touch Cover represents a step forward in human-computer interface. Using a unique pressure-sensitive technology, Touch Cover senses keystrokes as gestures, enabling you to touch type significantly faster than with an on-screen keyboard. It will be available in a selection of vibrant colors. Touch Cover clicks into Surface via a built-in magnetic connector, forming a natural spine like you find on a book, and works as a protective cover. You can also click in a 5 mm-thin Type Cover that adds moving keys for a more traditional typing feel.

An Amazing Windows Experience
Two models of Surface will be available: one running an ARM processor featuring Windows RT, and one with a third-generation Intel Core processor featuring Windows 8 Pro. From the fast and fluid interface, to the ease of connecting you to the people, information and apps that users care about most, Surface will be a premium way to experience all that Windows has to offer. Surface for Windows RT will release with the general availability of Windows 8, and the Windows 8 Pro model will be available about 90 days later. Both will be sold in the Microsoft Store locations in the U.S. and available through select online Microsoft Stores.

Contributing to an Expanded Ecosystem
One of the strengths of Windows is its extensive ecosystem of software and hardware partners, delivering selection and choice that makes a customer’s Windows experience uniquely their own. This continues with Surface. Microsoft is delivering a unique contribution to an already strong and growing ecosystem of functional and stylish devices delivered by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to bring the experience of Windows to consumers and businesses around the globe.

The gamers who want to use Video calls via Wi-Fi and 3G while you play with the Sony handled devices? Here’s Microsoft Acquired Skype service went live for your Play Station platform with an ease and Vita. Now, in addition to using your Playstation Vita to uncover lost cities of gold and destroy whole galaxies with mutant blobs, you’ll be able to use it to call your overseas friends.

Today taking a step forward Sony expands the functionality of the Vita by debuting a Skype app. The app will work with 3G and wi-fi, and make use of both the front and back cameras. It will also be able to run in idle mode in the background of games and alert players when they have incoming calls.

While we are yet to hear of any radical changes for the way in which the service operates, or any new additional user features, Microsoft has developed and released a Windows Phone Skype app, and has today announced that Sony’s new portable gaming device – the PS Vita – will also be given the Skype treatment.

The implementation of Skype on the PS Vita leaves a very crucial mark on the portable gaming industry, as this will be the first time ever when portable console owners will be able to make video calls on the go with the hope being that the availability of such a popular software package will rejuvenate Vita sales and go someway to proving just what the device is capable of doing outside the realms of gaming.

The official Skype app will be available for both the Wi-Fi and the 3G+Wi-Fi versions of the PlayStation Vita and will function as a backgrounded application, a feature that is noticeably lacking in the recent Skype for Windows Phone app. Manrique Brenes, Senior Director of Consumer Electronics at Skype had this to say about the driving factors behind the app launch:

Our users appreciate being able to access Skype features wherever and whenever they choose. With the launch of Skype for PS Vita, we are taking another step towards our ultimate goal of making Skype video-calling available on every platform, all over the world, and meeting the demands of existing PlayStation users to offer video on a gaming console.

Apart this, if you’re an PS Vita owner, the Skype app should be available as a free of charge download at some point later this day. Grab information about the app, head over to this official link.

Here’s the actual news pulled out from the tweet from Japans Windows 8 Dev Days that the announcement of the Windows 8 Release Preview will be coming on first week of June. So, Microsoft will announce a “release preview” version of Windows 8 will be unveiled in the first week of June, the company announced this evening.

Steven Sinofsky the Microsoft’s President who made this statement dusring on-stage appearance at Japan’s Windows Dev Days and more uniquly on its Build Windows 8 Twitter feed.

Here comes the competitive news who are eager to try the best on the cloud computing act, and Microsoft is all set its sight on Dropbox with its SkyDrive service that syncs files and folders between cloud storage and the local machine. According to the MSDN blog post, hard work was going into improving SkyDrive over the course of the past couple of months, and now, a preview version of SkyDrive desktop client has been pushed out, along with some plethora of improvements to existing services.

These features will help SkyDrive compete against Dropbox, the Web-based file hosting service that doesn’t have some of the synching features of the new SkyDrive client. The SkyDrive Metro style app has been around since the Redmond-based outfit released the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, but this preview of SkyDrive for Windows includes “fetch” support, and makes SkyDrive accessible from Windows Explorer on machines running Windows 8, Windows 7, and indeed Windows Vista, meaning that files stored upto 2GB can be dragged and dropped into and out of SkyDrive client.

The management features of Windows Explorer work with SkyDrive files and folders, and applications that need to work with folders can be tap folders stored in SkyDrive. As an iPhone-owning Windows user, I downloaded the respective SkyDrive clients, and sought to test just how synchronized and streamlined the new service is in practice. After all, Microsoft claims fetching files through SkyDrive.com is something that can be achieved with ease, and with such a huge emphasis on this service in the big move towards Windows 8.

If you doesn’t have a Windows Live ID, create one now simply by sign up with and after a couple of minutes, you signed simultaneously into the desktop and iOS versions of SkyDrive. With 7GB of free storage before one needs to pay, it’s slightly more real estate than offered by rivals, although it’s by no means overly generous, and if you’re a cloud storage power user, you’re going to need quite a bit more.

It creates a folder on the device and syncs it continually as users make changes. If a file is deleted from SkyDrive.com, it is also deleted from the folder. If a file is created on the device, it appears in the folder.

This sharing can be made less obvious by adding SkyDrive Documents to local Documents folders or image files from SkyDrive Pictures to the local Pictures folder. The SkyDrive application can also be used for remote access to a PC. Users log in to SkyDrive.com, perform a second authentication and gain access to the remote machine. The second authentication factor can be sent either to an alternate email address or to a mobile phone that must be in the user’s possession.

The client is available for both Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well as Windows phones and iPhones, but not Android smartphones. A new app for iPads is also available.

Check this : SkyDrive comes with 7GB of free storage, and more can be bought at annual rates of $10 for 20GB, $25 for 50GB and $50 for 100GB, which compares well to Dropbox where 50GB costs $120 per year.

This new version of SkyDrive supports managing the service from Finder on Mac OS X devices, so any application that uses the file system can access SkyDrive as well.

Both the Windows edition and a preview for Mac versions can now be downloaded along with the mobile apps via links given below, though the software maker is really pushing ahead with progress at just the right time.

Here is one interesting news surfaced about the Microsoft’s patent which was officially published some details by the United States Patend and Trademark Office. This patent relates to an unexpected technology gadget for the coming future which can amaze all the smartphone users over the world. And that’s nothing but!

The patent from the Microsoft is that it is working to build a two-sided smart device display system for phones and tablets. It features an integrated second low-power, possibly E Ink, display on the back that would show certain types of information.

While the secondary display could come in very handy for getting things like a clock off of the main display to free up space. It could display other information that might otherwise not be shown and the 2nd display would use its own low-powered processor, which would reduce the power load from the primary display.

If this is real then it could be very handy which can be used in many ways. What do you think of it, would we see this implementation on our smartphone soon? See the mockups first to come!

Microsoft has released its acquired VoIP repertire “Skype app” for its Windows Phone especially for those who lean the handset side of the mobile world, the official Skype app has not out yet still hanging for a quite a while now. Skype for Windows Phone was first released as a public beta at the end of February this year.

Well! i am an Nokia Lumia 800 user and want to try it, which Micrsosft have finally deemed Skype for Windows Phone a functionality and complete app worthy of a 1.0 version and ready for public consumption. The final 1.0 version of the Skype application has come just in time for all those enthusiastic consumers who are raiding local stores to snap up the Nokia Lumia 900, the latest must have smartphone.

So, today Skype’s fledgling Windows Phone app broke out of beta today, adding contact searching and landline calling to it’s VOIP repertoire. This update came to us of two months of the Beta introduction and boasts some handful of minor improvements that should keep your calls connected.

The Skype app is now live in the Windows Phone Marketplace and brings with it all of the features you would expect from a mobile version of the popular software that was originally created by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis but subsequently purchased by Microsoft in 2011.

If you’re one of those Windows Phone users, after downloading, you will be able to place voice and video calls to any of their contacts as well as make use of the built-in instant messaging type features to send text based messages. Calls to other Skype users are obviously free of charge with the app not being platform limited, meaning that Windows Phone Skype users can place voice and video calls to any worldwide Skype user, regardless of the platform they are using Skype on.

However, as the full version doesn’t yet have support for receiving calls in the background – if the app isn’t running, your phone isn’t ringing. But, the ability to search through and add new contacts is a welcome feature, with the final release also benefiting from some user interface improvements over the beta version.

Note: The lack of background abilities may prove to be a bit of a deal breaker for lots of users, means that the Skype app actually has to be running for incoming calls to be received.

Keeping in mind, Skype for Windows Phone does seem to perform great over 3G and 4G LTE data connections, and the similar way being extremely functional on either Wi-Fi which you could expect. This Skype implementation would sure to be a welcome addition to the Windows Phone Marketplace for regular users of the well established VoIP service. Hit the source link below to update!

As the Cloud computing giving the services to the mobile users to store the information of contact list, album of photos, and inbox full of messages, now the similar new Dropbox is in availability to backup, restore, sync, share and access files at any point of time from anywhere on the earth if you got the signals.Previously the limited range of Windows phones in which users were unable to get decent apps and even if they got a good one also it was a big task for the users who was running Microsoft’s mobile OS.

To patch up the privious lack of ability, now the Windows Phone users are able to get an improved version of unofficial Dropbox app with cloud backup option. It allows the users to make automatic camera uploads to their Dropbox account. As we know that it was a big problem to get the good quality of images while saving them to the SkyDrive. Now with this new version the problem is somewhat solved.

Though the users can upload the whole image file with the 3.6 updated version of boxfiles for Dropbox, they have to do some manual work while it is not completely automatic. Before their images are backed up to the Dropbox account, they have to open the app for a couple of seconds and allow it to scan the camera directory.

In this updated version, users can select a specific directory to upload their images and can also choose whether the app operates solely via Wi-Fi, or through a combination of Wi-Fi/Cellular data usage.

You can get the Boxfiles for Dropbox updated 3.6 version either free or a $ 1.29 paid option. The paid version contains the nifty auto-uploading feature which is much capable to keep your photos safe. So it is your choice to choose the free or paid version.

Microsoft following much rumored and speculation has just announced the final Windows 8 SKUs, as well as reaffirm that Windows 8 is the official, final name of the upcoming OS. Microsoft Communications Manager Brandon LeBlanc has finally given us our first official information about three product editions for Windows 8. This would be the original product shipping name and for the 32-bit and 64-bit PCs, there will be two editions of the operating system: Windows 8, which is roughly equivalent to Windows 7 Home Premium, and Windows 8 Pro, which is analogous to Windows 7 Ultimate. Windows on ARM, now called Windows RT, is a standalone product with roughly the same feature set as the standard Windows 8 product.

There are three main SKUs that consumers should care about – Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, and Windows RT – and two other SKUs for enterprise clients and for those in emerging markets. Windows 8 essentially envelops what was Home Basic and Home Premium in the past, offering everything that fits the bill of most users. Windows 8 Pro on the other hand offers features that will come in handy to businesses and enthusiast users, offering encryption, virtualization, PC management, and domain connectivity features that most normal consumers do not need, including all of its features plus business and power user-oriented features like Bitlocker, EFS, the ability to boot from VHDs and host Remote Desktop sessions, the ability to join Active Directory domains.

About Windows 8 RT , described as the newest member of the Windows family, Windows RT is essentially the final branding of Windows on ARM (WOA). While this edition can only be available pre-installed on ARM PCs and tablets, and which include – for free – touch-optimized versions of Office 15 applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

About Windows 8 Enterprise , this will of course pack all of the features of Windows 8 Pro on top of additional features tailored towards the needs of a big business/enterprise. This version of Windows 8 is dedicated to customers with Software Assurance agreements with the company. LeBlanc noted that Windows 8 Enterprise would include features that “enable PC management and deployment, advanced security, virtualization, new mobility scenarios, and much more,” but it’s not certain whether these will manifest themselves as new features within Windows 8 or as additional add-ons and programs available to enterprise customers separately.

And finally, Microsoft has a SKU especially targeted towards China and some other emerging markets, with a tailored, local language-only version of Windows 8. I like to call this SKU “Pirate Edition”. This was a terrible naming choice in my opinion as Microsoft’s new programming model is called WinRT. Not only does it make it confusing, but the “RT” term has absolutely zero meaning to consumers.

For a full list of features included in each edition, the original blog post is linked below

Few days ago we have published a post on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft’s next generation Xbox portable gaming consoles which are ready to compete with each other. Rumors are more interesting when talking about the most popular company’s like Microsoft and Sony, where one is a Redmond software giant and the other is gadgets famous such as Camera, smartphones, music players and so on. Its not stopped the rumor mills providing theories on what the new gaming console from Microsoft will include.

Today Xbox World have reported that Durango developer kits were sent out last month by Microsoft, and even though they don’t resemble the finished product in design and appearance. The inner workings of the developer kits is still representative of the next generation Xbox 720 console.

The new Xbox gaming console was codenamed Durango, which has reported to now contain an AMD’s Radeon 7000-series in terms of graphics, along with a 16-Core IBM power PC Processor. Back in November, AMD launched its world’s first 16 core CPU for the business market, so now could the new and next-gen Xbox to require such a boosting processor?

“It’s a ridiculous amount of power for a games machine – too much power, even,”-”But remember, Kinect 2 could chew up four whole cores tracking multiple players right down to their fingertips, so it’ll need a lot of power.”

Despite Microsoft and Sony both denying they’ll show next-gen tech at E3 in June, XBW’s sources claim many developers are working towards an LA debut for their next-generation software, “whether Microsoft and Sony are ready or not”.

What would you think about the Xbox 720 equipped with a 16-core CPU? If yes, that can beat Sony’s PlayStation 4?

There are few months left for the release of the Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 operating system, however with the technology world appears to have warmed to Win8 Consumer preview OS, the Metro interface does seem as though it would be much better suited to a tablet.

As we know that the Windows 8 will not just be limited to the desktop this time around, also to spread across to mobile devices with Windows eigth iteration offering deep integration with the popular Xbox + Kinect combo. With ASUS amongst those rumored to be preparing a Windows 8 tablet, it will be interesting to see just how the intertwined cross-platform system pans out.

I have installed the Windows 8 Developer Preview as well as Consumer Preview on my computer and experienced the scrolling lock screen and also the awesome start buttons and some irritating functions and features as well. The most annoying functionality in that operating system was something about Metro style.

If you are eager to see just how the Metro UI will look and function at tablet level, yes this company named Splashoad has pushed an application as an answer to your entertainment. A veteran in the remote desktop apps scene, it has really set a new benchmark by creating an app offering a relatively accurate Windows 8 tablet Metro UI to the market-leading iPad.

Named the Win8 Metro Testbed – powered by Splashtop, it allows developers to test for Windows 8 tablets without actually owning one, Splashtop’s CEO and co-founder, Mark Lee rightly points out, nearly every software dev writing tablet apps is in ownership of an iPad:

“With Windows 8 Metro expected to ship on over 400 million new PCs and tablets annually, these developers have high expectations for an enormous new market. Splashtop lets them turn their iPad into a development testbed to evaluate touch gestures and functionality of their app in a Windows 8 environment.”

With the help of this app, you can use all of Windows 8 gestures, play with the different UI, swipe and tap at things and develop Metro based apps for future use. However a Windows 8-based desktop is required to stream apps onto the iPad. Yes you thought right, this is a remote desktop app, something similar to OnLive Desktop app.

The app doesn’t come without a fairly heavy price tag. It currently costs $25, although that figure is set to double once the promotional period has run its course. so decide what you want to try it or not!

If you’re a owner of an iPad, and wish to test apps or just the interface, we advise this is a pretty exciting investment for your Apple tablet.
