According to the Brazil’s news channel, Folha.com, the news came out that the Barizil approves the Tax exceptions for the Foxconn iPad production in the country. on Monday and published in Brazil’s official register today, specifically provides for a reduction in or exemption from certain taxes associated with the production of touchscreen tablet devices lacking a keyboard and weighing less than 750 grams.

“According to ministerial decree 34 published Wednesday in the “Official Gazette”, the company will be entitled to the benefits provided for in Decree 5906 of September 2006.

The determination provides for exemption or reduction of the IPI (Excise Tax), PIS and Cofins for companies investing in research and development of technology products.”

Specifically, the decree states that companies investing in the research and development of keyboardless touchscreen tablets weighing less than 750 grams qualify for IPI (Excise Tax), PIS (Social Contribution Tax) and COFINS (Federal Contribution Tax) incentives. Also included under the decree are accessories, cables, power supplies and manuals associated with tablet computers.

While the iPad 2 specs definitely fit for their Claus, weighing in at just over 600 grams with only slight variation among the various models. The ordinance also permits the production of accessories, cables, power supplies and manuals associated with the allowed tablet devices.

In April last year, it was reported that Foxconn’s new Brazil plant was ‘ready’ to start producing iPads; however, later in the month news broke that the plan to produce iPads in the country was ‘in doubt’ due to ‘crazy demands’ by Foxconn and deep structural problems.

* Visit the Ubuntu software center and search for libimobiledevice, and install libimobiledevice-utils. It might then ask you to reboot. Do so, and upon reboot Linux should recognize your device. For other distributions or more information, visit http://www.libimobiledevice.org/

Step 2: Download Absinthe v3.0 for Linux from here, and unpack it on your Ubuntu desktop.

Step 3: Now choose on which you’re on a x86 machine double click absinthe.x86, if you’re on a 64-bit machine (likely) double click absinthe.x86_64 to run Absinthe.

Step 4: Once Absinthe is running you will need to plug your iPhone 4S into your computer and ensure that your device is powered on, and that Absinthe detects your device, then click Jailbreak.

Step 5: Now let the Greenpois0n Absinthe finsih the work, i mean entire process, no user intervention is needed until then end. Once the loading bar is complete, find the Absinthe icon on your iDevice’s Home screen, and launch it to complete the jailbreak.

Step 6: Once your iPhone 4S reboots you can slide-to-unlock it and then on your SpringBoard (homescreen) you should notice a new Absinthe icon. Tap this Absinthe icon now, the official GreenPois0n website should appear for an instant, and then your iPhone 4S will reboot.

Usually, many of the iPhones have a function to secure the device and prevent others to peep in to your personal data. Mostly, this function comes with a simple numerical password set up which dosen’t give that much protection and one can easily breake it.

Here’s how you can setup a secured passcode for your iPhone – Steps

Step1 : Go to Settings and select General

Step 2: Scroll down and select Passcode Lock

For Apple, this court’s decision to rule the act of jailbreaking as entirely legal was a major blow for the company, considering they have invested so much time, money into making their devices and operating systems as secure as possible, which the public advocates always making jailbreaking which an unlawful act. Apple haven’t said any word, hoosing to make a short statement, which drew attention to the fact that jailbreaking, whilst officially legal, would still void any official Apple warranties:

While the updated DMCA ruling which allowed millions of jailbreak fans to take deep breath that they weren’t law breakers. According to Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) lobbying for users to add their electronic voice to a petition which aims to ask the United States government to declare once again that jailbreaking an iPhone does not violate the DMCA. The EFF are also been asked for the initial exemption, which is set to expire, to extend to cover tablet devices as the Apple’s iPad is not currently covered in the original ruling.

High level iOS developer, Charlie Miller, is an advocate for this change and has been alerting his Twitter followers to the petition, directing them to the EFF website to add their voice. A recent tweet by Miller makes a public plea for users to head on over to the online petition:

Judging by his follow up tweet, it would appear that a number of his followers believe that the previous ruling is permanent, and that no further action is needed to be taken. While the recent download and usage statistics which relate to the new Absinthe jailbreak tool clearly show that jailbreaking is not only still popular, but is a thriving and expanding community.

To allow this exemption to expire, and cast that world of jailbreaking back into the dark days would not only be a huge step, but would also play a major role in killing off the innovation and development talent which we have seen within eaighteen months.
