AppSlider For iPhone Adds Two Of Your Favorite Apps Directly From The Lockscreen
There are various Cydia tweaks that makes you experience something that you can’t get from the official App Store. Apple has recently announced the fact that the twenty fifth billionth application has been downloaded from their App Store, confirming the application hub as the biggest on the mobile planet. While now a days as statistic clearly shows that the iOS users are becoming increasingly active in the Official App Store. While the Cydia Store, which also turns in some impressive numbers. Cydia is the home of the amazing third-party applications, tweaks and modifications available for an iOS device, either it might be an iPad 1, iPad 2, or iPad 3, or the iPhone or iPod Touch, which is added to on a daily basis.
The developer Ron Melkhior pushed one of the latest tweaks to land in the Cydia Store, and gave it a name called “AppSlider”, which relates to the fact that the tweak makes modifications to either side of the slide to unlock graphic on the device’s lockscreen. AppSlider is one of the best tweak now available for regular users of iPhone who have one or two applications that they use on a recurring basis. For Example, Facebook users may like to have the Facebook apllication located permanently on the Lockscreen, giving then quick access without having to unlock the device first.
Words from the AppSlider developer:
AppSlider will minimize the width of the slider, and in the blank spaces will add the feature to add in every side an icon of an app you choose, and when you will tap it, it will open the app.
The AppSlider tweak essentially gives users the ability to launch custom applications from the lockscreen, which it achieves by minimizing the slide to unlock bar and adding the chosen application icons to both sides of the slider.
AppSlider is a very simple, but powerful tweak and will definitely appeal to those iPhone and iPod touch users who have a couple of applications which they use on a more frequent basis than all others.
After launching this app doesn’t suffer from any sort of lag, and for those who are security concious, the AppSlider tweak respects the passcode lock settings, means if user has a passcode lock set through the Settings application, the numeric keypad will still be presented when the application is tapped, requiring the correct password before proceeding into the app itself.
AppSlider is available from the BigBoss repository as a free of charge download, requires iOS 5, and is currently only compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch.
