Rumors have been extensive for quite a while now that both Samsung and Apple are working on larger Galaxy Note and iPad models for release at sometime in the soon. Apart this, the iPhone now boasts an ever so slightly larger display since last year’s release of the iPhone 5, with plenty of suggestion that a future handset will take things a step closer to some of the Android and Windows Phone devices arena. Digitimes has come with some accurate information pertaining both the Apple smartphone and tablet, suggesting that the new iPhone (6) could launch as soon as May 2014 with the new iPad releasing sometime in the fall.
Apple is rumored to be planning a larger size iPhone for May 2014, using a 20nm processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, according to Digitimes, it doesn’t give any more details about the next-gen iPhone’s specs, but we have to approach this new report with a fair amount of respect.
Reverted back about the talks Tim Cook’s company penning a deal with supplier Quanta Computer produce the bigger iPad as whole with a 12.9-inch display, would comfortably surpass the smaller MacBook Air in terms of display real estate. But with the iPad mini releasing last year, and a second-gen follow-up bringing some genuine power to the mix, it would seem that the Cupertino company is more than willing to hedge its bet.
With the multiple reports that suggest the device will feature a display in the 5-inch neighborhood, which is still bigger than the current iPhone but not quite as huge as phablets such as Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and and this is rumored to be something that the company is considering.
Although, with a very large iPad, would be able to upstage an iPhone posing an increased display, which the Digitimes reports talks about in some detail. In fact, the new report points to a May release that makes us more than a little skeptical.
It’s rare to see Apple release a new version of the iPhone so close to the release of its latest iPhone 5s but maybe the company doesn’t want to wait much longer to put out a device with a larger form factor. Sources also confirm earlier reports about the Fruit company releasing a 12.9″ “iPad Pro” tablet that will be targeted toward North American educational markets.
