Download links for iOS 8 Beta firmware now rolling out to developers and with the release added 10 new features with some bug fixes and general performance enhancements. Full details can be found after this break!
On Monday, Apple released iOS 8 beta 4 and the final build is expected to be rolling out in September around the same time as the Cupertino’s iPhone 6 launch. With WWDC in early June, Apple finally lifted the lid of iOS 8, and all the iPhone, ipad and iPod touch device owners are expecting many changes aside from the Health app, and left with one of the more significant updates to the mobile OS since its inception.
The third-party keyboard support is among the new releases and with Continuity features, improvements to Siri and Widgets to Boot, all seen. The latest iOS 8 beta 4 version offers up some new abilities, among them is a new app called ‘Tips’.
Today’s update, as per the changelog, doesn’t offer great deal, except Tips. Providing tips and tutorials on how to use certain features on your iOS device, the app will be updated often.
For instance, “the app will tell you that you can access Siri without pressing any buttons, by saying “Hey, Siri,” that is similar to the “Okay, Google,” that Android users say to open Google Search without using a button.
However, over the next few days, it’s likely that we’ll stumble across some more little tweaks and changes, and as we take the time to familiarize ourselves with this latest beta, we’ll be sure to notify you of anything significant as we find it. Tips app is pointed out, and that doesn’t stand out normally to iOS 8 users. Along with directions on how to find them on your iOS device, the app also shows you on turning it on or off in the settings.
Now, those subbed to Apple’s Developers Program can go ahead and grab the latest beta via the usual method. First time trying out the new beta, then, be sure to head over to developer.apple.com/ios, where you’ll find all the important information.
Already on iOS 8 beta 3 installed on your device, then you can also download the beta 4 update from Settings > General > Software Update from your iOS device. Keep in mind that while iOS 8 beta 4 might help fix some bugs and resolve some issues, it might also create new ones.
