No, we aren’t talking about the next-generation Nexus (5), but about the rumors that have surfaced in the past that Google is planning to launch its latest Android operating system. KitKat is the name of the next version of Google’s mobile OS, and now as if confirmation was needed, then here’s the clue. Officially on a German KitKat Facebook page a comment has been made confirming that the new OS will debut in October. Full details after the break!
The below image was actually posted on KitKat Germany’s Facebook profile, and the 11th comment, which was from KitKat states, “Hi Tim, Android 4.4 KIT KAT ist ab Oktober verfügbar.” For those who don’t speak German, this translates to, “Hi Tim, Android 4.4 KIT KAT is available from October.”
It’s clarified at this point we’re all certain that the Android KitKat version 4.4 OS will be launching in October alongside the Nexus 5 smartphone. With the further confirmation on that release date, comes directly from the KitKat chocolate makers, which has given Android 4.4 its namesake.
Prior to the leaks, rumors and speculation suggests that the Android 4.4 build will bring the following changes to the KitKat compatible devices. In its collaboration with Google, Nestle has been promoting its Nexus 7 giveaway, which is currently be found on Android-branded KitKat candy bars.
The launch of Android 4.4 will coincide with the launch of the Nexus 5. Reportedly indicates an October launch for the Nexus 5 and early rumors suggested that the device would be released on October 5th, which was once believed to be coming running Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Many other reliable sources pinpointed October without a specific date.
Notably the Nexus 4 and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean were officially announced in late October 2012 while the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich were announced in October 2011. Now Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat will be announced in the same October fashion?
