Google is ready to release its latest mobile os – Android 5.0 “Jelly Bean” by this end of June 2012. According to the reliable sources DigiTimes, who quote Taiwan-based supply chain makers, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean will bring further optimizations for larger screen devices – tablets and netbook computers.
Android 5.0 code named “Jelly Bean” will be integrated to Chrome OS functionality for dual-boot tablets and notebooks. Mean upcoming Android release will be its ability to dual-boot Chrome OS. The cloud-based platform still struggles to make an impact and Google is obviously planning on using the wildly popular Android to change that.
Google thinking about the dual-booting will also make Android’s 5.0 Jelly Beam much easier to market with computer makers as well. Insiders told DigiTimes that Google is pushing Android 5.0 and Windows 8 hybrids to its manufacturing partners, for notebooks, netbooks and tablets that offer the best of both platforms.
From DigiTimes reports:
Android 5.0 will be further optimized for tablet PCs, while Google will also integrate its Chrome system functions to push dual-operating system designs. Brand vendors can either choose to adopt only Android 5.0 or add Android 5.0 to Windows 8 devices with the ability to switch between the two OSes without the need to shut down the computer.
So the dual-booting Android Jelly Bean 5.0 and Windows 8 machines will be now able to mix up with both the platforms, sources pointed out, rather damaging a reboot each time.
While the Android OS 4.0 – ICS version has manged to reach more than 1% of Android devices which suggests its successor. Reports say, the search gaint will seek to release its new Android platform to provide better competition to Microsoft’s new Operating system Windows 8, which would be arriving this third quarter.
I am eagerly waiting for the June 27th – the day when the Google I/O developer event begins and if an Android 5.0 Jelly Bean announcement is to happen in Q2 – that will certainly be the place.
